rpm meter

Hye all..I'm a new comer here. Just got the e46 for two weeks. Is anyone know why when i start the engine the rpm meter state at 0.5-0.7 rpm instead of almost 1 rpm for a normal car. When i on the a/c the rpm meter increase a bit. Is this happened because of the engine haven't tune yet?. Or is it normal?.Secondly about the engine oil. I already drive the car for almost 2000 mileage but when i check the engine oil, it already almost half from the maximum before. Is this 2.0 e46 runs a lot of engine oil?.Any support. Share with me.Thanks

idle should be at 650-750rpm. sounds fine to me.

re: engine oil. Get it checked. Could be a leak somewhere or burning engine oil
