Mr Pope,

You seem to be showing a great level of interest in the progress of the ROS. Any particular reason? And what elections are you talking about? care to enlighten us?

I think that we've been transparent enough thus far and your manner of pushing for a progress seems a little premature. When the committee say we're actively on it, it means we're actively on it. UNless you have some kind of special services to offer to facilitate the entire process, would appreciate you to be more patient and wait for the outcome.

Mr. Daredevil,

Your questions shall be answered consecutively so as to avoid deviation, if that's alright.

1. You seem to be showing a great level of interest in the progress of the ROS. Any particular reason
Answer: Yes. The "committee" has been heralding its "arrival" for a fair amount of time with alot of "promises" being made along the lines of "when we get the ROS blah blah blah". The cert from BMW AG was awarded 4 years ago (if i'm not mistaken) which means that the application should have been made at that point. Fine, it wasnt but it was done over a year ago. Kudos to the ppl who took on that task. However, it does not usually take over a year to get the ROS membership unless the application is not in order or the individuals making the application are of a dubious character. This is especially so when it involves an application that forms part of a Chapter/Branch of an International Society/club.

2. And what elections are you talking about?
Answer: My apologies. I was led to believe that the preset committee is elected. Since you have implied that this is not the case, is "new blood" thus invited to join by the existing committee? If that is the case, isnt this a contravention of the term "pro-tem committee" since it should be the "original committtee" that should be helming the "club" until ROS membership? Which means the original guys/gals who started the club should be the ones who are still "running the show" until ROS membership?

3. care to enlighten us?
Answer: refer to above.

4. I think that we've been transparent enough thus far and your manner of pushing for a progress seems a little premature.
Answer: Its been over a year.

5. UNless you have some kind of special services to offer to facilitate the entire process, would appreciate you to be more patient and wait for the outcome.
Answer: Will gladly chase the Kementrian Hal-Ehwal Dalam Negeri on the matter since my job entails dealing with them on a weekly basis. Care to hand over all documents and files? Will even provide updates on a weekly/fortnightly basis or whenever there's communication.

Answer: If you're going to take a swipe at anyone, grow up & put your money where your mouth is. Either say who it is, or stop with the innuendo. Its a waste of bandwith (since its not facilitating any intellectual discourse on the topic/thread) and not to mention schoolyard juvenile in nature.

Cheers!

Oh well, since its a rumour and hence it wont be appropriate to name the person. I supposed we will all know when election time comes. Heard he is also a moderator wannabee...cheh! :p

I would suggest you to learn the ropes before you start shooting off your mouth again. There are tinges of mala fide here and there in your postings. Why the ROS took so long, well I will let the committee explain it. Its not as simple as ABC. Plenty of time were spent on getting the relevant documents and etc.

The file number is already posted up sometime ago in the forum. Why dont you do a search rather than waiting to be spoonfed again? I mean if you are really keen to help la :D

Three points.

Point One:-

Looks like someone has Comprehension difficulties... doesnt seem to understand " If you're going to take a swipe at anyone, grow up & put your money where your mouth is. Either say who it is, or stop with the innuendo. Its a waste of bandwith (since its not facilitating any intellectual discourse on the topic/thread) and not to mention schoolyard juvenile in nature". Guess its ok for certain individuals to deviate from the thread topic whilst others are "reprimanded" for it.

Point TWo:
"I supposed we will all know when election time. comes."

Does this mean that there ARE elections? My my, a moderator speaks of elections which apparently are non-existant. Disgusting to see how well you revel in gossip mongering.

POint Three:
I would suggest you to learn the ropes before you start shooting off your mouth again. There are tinges of mala fide here and there in your postings.

Care to give examples of this mala-fide intent? Or are you saying that asking about the ROS is such a sensitive issue that it borders of ill-will intent?

My my my..spoken like a true loya buruk... :D

Yes, adrian they were elections held before and there will be elections held in the future to elect in the new office bearers. So all hope is not lost on the moderator wannabee hahaha :D :p Like I said, try talking to the older members of the forum and get an insight to the formation of the club.

Not to mention the time taken to do the first draft of the constitution!

I remember the so-called club founder (now dyfunct url) wanted to do it, but after a long delay nothing happened. So the then protem club secretary (JPB) took over the drafting, with me assisting him. Then it took a meetings for everyone to comment on the draft, ding dong ding dong. I hope my recollection of the chain of events is correct, coz this was 2-3 years ago.

For the Uninitiated One, the file number is posted on Page 4, anyway just to walk the extra mile of spoonfeeding here it is, PPP/SEL000199/05 & PPM/SEL001009/05. If this is not transparency, then what is? And here is the thread of the AGM 2 which was held last year. As for AGM 1, the thread went together with old forum. http://www.bmwclubmalaysia.com/forums/inde...topic=5492&st=0 And this was the thread for candidates' nomination, http://www.bmwclubmalaysia.com/forums/inde...topic=5505&st=0

Thanks OSFlanker for your input. And there were plenty of comments from the authority (the constitution) and hence plenty of amendments made to comply with their requirements as well. I hope other founding members of the previous committee will provide more insight into the history of the club. Maybe The President should also let everyone know how long it took to get the Official Club Certificate, which was needed for ROS submission from someone. It would definitely be beneficial to newbies like Adrian.

I think enough of the name calling. Let get down to business.

To all the committees, advisors and fellowmate, I sense the passion
in popeadrian desire to help the club. Unfortunately, this passion can be
inteperate as interference to the running of the club. IMHO, I do not
think this is the case. Unfortuanately, being relatively new to the forum,
there always seem to be some suspicion on the mind of other.

what is his motive? Why is he so persistent?...

In order to clear all the doubt, may I sugguest that you
contact Sith to setup an informal meeting with some of the committee
to discuss whatever issue on your mind.

BTW, the ROS have been approved by the state level and the
application have been sent to Hq for final approval. Please PM
kahar if you are indeed eager to help. :eek:k:

Jarance a meeting was held sometime ago. I guess it didnt help.

We always welcome people who sincerely want to assist and contribute to the club, afterall this is our passion. That being said, we dont need Prima Donnas in this club.

I know we have been talking bout this for some time, like everyone else I myself is excited over the ROS thingy. Make no bones bout it, I do also ask the committee personally on the ROS approval pretty often. I have no doubt that the committee is chasing and following up for a speedy approval, maybe "we" are not so well connected and hence the "perceived" delay. IF we read back this thread, Mr. President has always welcome members to assist if they could help to fast track the ROS approval. Rather than bickering/implying about the committee heralding the announcement on ROS, lacking transparency or accountability which to me isnt the case here, it would be better to channel this negative energy into a form of assistance to them which will lead to the club's benefit.

with all due respect to all, this thread is about ROS..

Please PM or discuss offline about what happened at the carpark.

Thank you for your kind understanding...

Records show you were not present at any of the AGMs when the nominations and elections were conducted. So I strongly believe you have no right to talk about something which happened 4 years ago. Can you justify how you came up with 4 years? The committee has been heralding the arrival of the approval in stages. When we progress, we celebrate. Isn’t that a fact of life? Like in World Cup, a team celebrates victory even though it’s a preliminary match.

Ok, just in case you accuse anyone of being not transparent in handling this matter, I'll tell you a little story and a little history lesson (based on a real event). When BMW AG issued the official certificate to acknowledge the existence of our 'club' a few years back, we were very proud. In fact, every little thing we achieved is a big thing for us. BMW Malaysia was more than happy to recognise us as the only official BMW Club in Malaysia. However, due to some unforeseen attempts to commercialise the forum for personal gains, our official status was almost revoked. This includes advertisements of unauthorised workshops and totally irrelevant products (naming the product would be an insult to the roundl. So I'm gonna be more general. It's a food related) in a BMW Club Forum. It was perceived as a serious issue by BMW Malaysia. The previous committee fought very hard to ensure things were steered back to perspective.

All these caused a lot of uncertainties in the forum and management of the 'club'. So ROS was something we did not pursue immediately until the air was cleared. Enough said.

My apologies. Apology accepted. According to the club constitution (submitted to ROS), election of a new committee will only take place once every 2 years. So the existing committee will hold office for another 1.5 years.

The 'original committee' of bmwclubmalaysia are now club advisors. In a way, they are still helming the club as they've been giving valuable support, guidance and input to the committee behind the scene.

Its been over a year.

Is there black & white stating that club registration cannot take more than a year? I believe the term ‘unforeseen delay’ exist for a reason.

Will gladly chase the Kementrian Hal-Ehwal Dalam Negeri on the matter since my job entails dealing with them on a weekly basis. Care to hand over all documents and files? Will even provide updates on a weekly/fortnightly basis or whenever there's communication.

Thank you for your kind offer. But I think the current team in charge is doing a great job and need no interference as yet. Don’t worry, we’ll definitely shout if we need your help. At least we know there’s backup.

A word of advice. As office bearers, we also need to uphold the image of this soon-to-be official club. We find it highly inappropriate to discuss such an issue (which is well under control) using such tone and manner in a public forum. The last thing we want is for outsiders to use the postings to our detriment. If you have any further grouses, kindly arrange a time and we shall discuss this offline. I’ve assigned a few of my dedicated committee members to handle this matter with you.

This thread will now be closed. It will be removed shortly.

Thank you.
