Have you guys changed either your 1) anti-roll bars2) anti-roll bar bushings to a harder compound PUif, so what's your experience ? My e34 handles fine & corner fairly flat, but I could do with a bit sharper turn in which I feel is a bit slow even with my massively wide 235/45/17 spec tires.!! Also: how about changing the toe-in or camber?.. any exp with this?

Sway bars & PU bushing are good upgrades to improve handling. You will definately feel better cornering stability. However if you are looking for a quicker turn in, then you would need to lighten your front end or chg steering rack. Not much choices for the E34 really in terms of upgrade in handling. You might wanna try to source for a use ticker sway bars like mtech or RD's. New will be almost impossible to find. PU bushing's is really good but difficult to get for E34's.

e34's front & rear cambers are all fixed.. even the rear toe can't be adjusted..it's self adjusting..

E34 PU bushings can be purchased from Australia, google for "Grant bushings".

As for steering ratio, I have checked before and it seems that M5 steering box have the same ratio as other E34 so you can't do much on that.

So to improve the handling is to play around with tyre compound (front softer than rear), tyre pressures, ride height and dampers. But in general, the E34 is excellent on the highways and open roads, not tight stuff like autocross!

The ETK lists a "Guide Support Camber Correction Mount" for the E34s to increase the negative camber by 0.5 deg. More neg camber in front should help with the turn in.

The part numbers are: 31331137234 (up to 07/90)
and
31331139481 (after 07/90)

Alternatively you can get Kmac front camber/caster plates for the same purpose.

good info...thanks.

I checked the PU powerflex bushings.. about I.5K for a set. heard from other forummers this is a good upgrade.

Stuttgart wanted about 350 for thicker antiroll bar at front.

eccentric M5 front bushing would do the same right?

Yup, agree with all of your the e34 handles great on highway and fast/med sweepers.. guess with 1400kg of weight there's only so much one can do!!

Huh? I thought E36/46 325>330 already close to 1500Kg?

faster turn in? in addition to a faster rack suggest - a much lowered ride, stiffer springs plus lower profile tyres will do that too....front side of course.....

do balance your need in dry for a wet set-up so it wun be too nervous later! ( the rear )
