Hi guys, just wonder if anyone have renew your road tax recently? Mine is expiring soon and my registration card is in Ipoh (I am in KL). Based on the new ruling, if registration card is still a must?

Sure yes, u can ask bank to renew the roadtax for u, u juz bank in the payment for them then ask them to courier the roadtax to u.

Yes Gerald, what bmw7833 said applies. Just go to the nearest bank branch, make the payment and tell them which home branch is your loan based in. Then ask them to courier down to the nearest branch (in this case, the branch which u made the payment). But have to act fast, and expect the courier to be 1-2 days.

Bought the car in Jan this year and the insurance will be running till Jan next year bro. Intend only to renew road tax for 6 month and would purchase the balance month of insurance when due next year.

I had similar experience. What I did was, on one working business day, I step into my home branch, request for a blank A4 paper and hand write a letter to withdraw my Registration Card.

Request: Withdrawal of Registration Card for own safe keeping.
Reason: Renewal of Roadtax as I currently live and work outstation.

I keep my own registration cards despite unsettled loan.

Most finance company allow u to safe keep the regn card if u'r monthly instalment is served promptly. Other reason is by telling them that u're going to sell u'r vehicle. Puspakom need the original regn card when u do the inspection.

Just to update on my road tax renewal on line at myeg.com.my, just key in all the particular required and pay online by your card and there will be 2 choices.
1) You may immediately pick your road tax up at their office, yes immediately! Location of their office is at the back of TV3, upon arrival at the building, call them and there will be people sending down your road tax.. service charge 2.90.
2) Get them to deliver to your door step the next day if you are in Klang Valley within the 25km radius and this will cost you an extra 6 bucks.
This is cool and save us a lot of trouble.. by the way, they can renew your insurance too, you may choose any insurance company in their web site. Try go to their web page and experince yourself mate.

but make sure that you check you are not black listed before you renew your roadtax..
if not waste time..
