Its my first BMW ( European car ) and I find my left hand too busy - turn signal, aircond, iDrive etc, not to mention to stick in the keyfob and press the start/stop button. On the other hand my right hand is quite free, mainly on steering wheel and wipers ( which is auto anyway ). The left hand is even busier when you switch to manual mode (steptronic ) or driving a manual transmission. You have to change gear and turn signal using your left hand at the same time, how do you manage that? Does anyone notice this or can you share your experience on how to overcome this. From statistics, only about 30% of cars are RHD. Even with 30%, shouldn't the european car manufactures consider switching the signal controls on the steering of a RHD car? Has this topic been brought up before or we just accept the fact?PS. On a E90 LCI, there's only 1 knob on the car audio system, and its on the far left side of the car audio!

You'll get used to it bro, given time.

Helps if you don't really swap between BMW and other marques frequently as well.

Don't sweat the small stuff man. My problem is even bigger. Because my left hand is always busy with the car, wifey is complaining I never hold her hand anymore. Also, she says the distance between front seats is too far and the armrest is always in the way.

In conclusion, she prefers I drive the Kancil. Go figure.

Salut

..i believe its same with all euro cars..same issue is with my rangie (actually even more buttons to deal with by left hand)...only car i have had that it has it sort of 'ballanced' was Peugeot...i do not know is it still same for new models..

Wear a automatic watch on your left hand as well......."sambil menyelam minum air"

I dont think its cost effective for the car manufacturers to change the layout of these items, its gonna too much to produce separate parts.

Never noticed any problems with it....works quite well for me, being a leftie hehehe.

My left hand will be more busy if got hot passenger and while she is busy holding the stick

hahahaha,

U so slow la doc. Not as fast as your car. Need an ///M owner to explain. hehehe

Some have questioned why American automobiles are not made available with right-hand drive, or a steering wheel on the right, as it would be safer for getting out of the vehicle. There are a few ways to get a right-hand drive car. If you are willing to finance car loans, you can get a brand new vehicle that works better for your situation. A person can import a car so long as it meets the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. For those who cannot surmount the considerable cost of importing a car, there are a number of services that convert vehicles to right-hand drive for use as postal vehicles in rural areas.

Is this a problem? Malaysian car has a knob or whatsoever on the right hand side?

I think if you are driving on the left hand side your right hand will also do that kind of job unless you are driving Mclaren F1.

Considering the time you posted this was so long ago, i figured out you should be used to driving it. As time passes, you'll soon figure out or your hand will automatically multitask
itself. You're driving a BMW. BMW make cars that make driver's life easier.

No, BMWs make the driver's life more fun and exciting. You want easier, get a Mercedes or a Camry.
