Need to replace my battery - :getyourfactsright: $$$$ :( Other than the ori one from AB (RM780, donno if this includes installation!), what other options can I consider? Was quoted Victorite (or something like that), which is a sealed, maintenance free unit for RM310 - anyone tried this before? Thanks!

Recently got my battery replaced at M1, Kayu Ara.

It's Delkor, maintenance free, and costs around RM300+ all in.

After that, solved many symptoms for me. Even fuel consumption improved.

I hear Bosch got a new car battery as well. Might want to try that.

Had a friend who fitted AC Delco onto his Porsche 944 (I think) - had nothing but complains cos it did not last all that long! Maybe it was old stock!

me replaced with a MF din88 batt for rm390, almost 2 years liao, still ok. brand dunno wat super gold charger ...something like that...

Got it done today - Victorite DIN66 M/F with 1 yr's warranty for RM310. Nice looking - jet black!

Are the "dry" ie Maintanence free batteries good? Heard from some guys that it aint as "safe" for the car as the "normal" ones.....

Am using a Maintanence Free one on my Japanese car and it works perfectly but BMW's are "tempremental babies" so whats the best option?

correct me if i'm wrong guys, but i think dry, or maintenance free sealed batteries are a must for bimmers, especially if you have the battery in the boot. the standard batteries have a bad habit of leaking lots of poisonous fumes.

mspeed told me the original BMW factory fitted battery for E46 318i year 2000 (my own car) is din 80 and it cost around 760. i just change mine to delkor din 85 for RM 450. seems that most of the tyre shop and BM specialist is carrying this brand, i think it must be good. my original battery 6 years until now never change b4, hence b4 i get into troble, better change it. after checking, the old battery still have water inside but i dun wanna take the risk (i think he took it for his burger stall floresent lamp) investing RM 300-400+ for a battery that can last u for 4-6 years is worthhhhhh it. so guys better change for those that is around 4-5 years. (remember the topic of battery exploding in E36 boot :nyehehe: )

so what's the recommended DIN to use then...for e46?

55, 66, 80, 85, 86, 88....

Well, AB says for E46 318, DIN66 is good. Dunno, maybe for the 6-potters, u need a bigger cap one?

DIN 55 66 88 also can pakai one

i just changed mine to 66 century MF at Rm380 at uptown Damansara

feel kena "chop" abit :(

They said after changed batt.

need to send car back for tuning?

yeah mer? I have doubt...any one got better advice?
