Replacing stock radio with new? how?! Sifu'z help me.. i asked few accesories new my place they said cant change.. and some say Need a 'board' to change the radio..must get it frm autobavaria? wth i don't get it..he said without board stuff can change but mite mess up system..argh help sifuz

What are you changing? The Head unit or complete with speakers and amp. I have a cd player for oem e46 if you are interested.

i have speaker and amp.. planning to change the head unit so can play mp3's n so on.

The biggest problem about changing the headunit to an aftermarket one is the multifunction steering. Once you do that, (unless you're willing to spend big bucks), the multifunction won't work anymore.

Other than that, no sweat.

Use iPod lo....

ah? multifunctional steering wont work ar..aiyooo.. so if use IPOD nonit change head unit la..? i got ipod nano 8gb.. can use uh..? whats the procedures n all? sifuz help!

Need to ipod intergration kit. But aftermarket typewith need you to forgo the cd changer. The ipod kit uses the cd changer wire so that you can control the ipod thru the steering wheel.

erm..so that means i gota change the tape uni to BMW business cd unit or after market in order to install IPOD? Sorry bt its not clear lol im stil blur..err. I want ipod integration with steering wheel control.

You can keep the stock cassette player. Just hook up the ipod kit to the cd changer wire and you can strt to use the ipod.

14m3 thanks bro!.. any idea where i can get the ipod kit? price expensive ar..i also heard some saying.. depends on ipod kit quality..some sounds wun be so clear n all.. and the ipod gona be in boot uh ? :p hope nt

The ipod kit will be in the cabin. Cable for the kit is long enough to be store in glove compartment.

You can refer to this website http://www.diceelectronics.com/ , this is the model I use for my car which was bought through internet and assembled DIY. It will not interfere with anything, you still have the ability to use the multifunction controls, you can also choose to have info about song/artist/album to come out from the centre consol or from your meter.

I believe there are other similar products/models carried by most of good ICE installer. Depends on your location, you can pay a visit to CN Audio (Kelvin) in Shah Alam near Shah Alam Mall, KK Lau, ACP Audio (Ah Bee) in SS2, and few others, if you've gone through some of the previous posting, you will know shops and installer recommended by forummers.

Hope this help. Cheers

I have a used unit if anyone is interested. S$150 pick up in Sin

I got it (if not mistaken, quite sometime already) around RM700-800++, whatever it is personally i think it should not exceed RM1k, but depends on what it can offer and its capabilities. Look for seamless integration model..the unit must offer you like what a BMW cd changer is doing, and also the IPOd function integration with the dsiplay.

The offer above looks good.
