Hi recently My E36 someone try to break in but end up spoilt my door lock so i try go to Potong kereta find one door lock to replace it and first thinking have to make another new key just for my new lock means i have carry two key with me...but my friends told me can find key smith specialist they can modify my new lock just using back original key so i dun need carry two key...today i try ask one key maker shop in PJ SS2, they said can modify it but cost me about rm180 just for modify labour cost... i find it too expensive not worth it all...but anyone here can introduce me more resonable key maker Sifu can do such job...Thanxxx...NOTE; My Origianl Key starter have no i c chips, just a normal key and swicth starter .

Don't throw the old key I think you can use back the internal parts and get it done with your old key as I did that to my glove compartment. Try your luck DIY

Yes, the ordinary key set can be duplicated (I mean the internal part, not the key). Any good bmw workshop can do it. If you are not good in diy, let the specialist do it for you. it a little bit delicate things.

Uncle Rezzy, lama tak dengar berita. how r u

Just buy old lock from junk shop and ask locksmith to modify lock to suit your old key.

or use old lock from passenger side and swap to driver side. Problem only passenger side cannot open door from outside. This is the same as E46. This option is the cheapest and easiest..
