ayoo yo yo ...thanks for sharing here ...

did you even told him that the charges was expensive ...as many will just pay and never say a word ...end up later making noise

bmw7833, I am so sorry for your awful experience. If you guys are looking for a reliable and good bmw specialist, I would recommend Steven of Milan Motors in Taman Sungai Besi. I have been going to him for the past 17 years and he has maintained my E30, E34 and now E39 with pure professionalism.

i have dealt with Vasu -maybe since 10 years ago ... M1 time ..

Sometimes, the shops are reluctant to charge 'labour only' ... They make money selling the parts to u too.

Not trying to defend him .. but shit happens. Even my regular mechanics can be quite moody at times ..

My 2 cents.

I changed my four absorbers plus springs at Bluegreen Motor Werks, (at the federal highway, fire fighters building near motorola) and it took almost 6 hours + because of the work involved like Jerman mentioned.Btw, I changed all the arms infront too..anyway, after changing the absobers, since it was around 8 at night, the mech asked me to go and do an alignment at a tyre shop the next day or I can leave the car there and he will get the alignment done for me and I can collect it by afternoon..Now thats what I call Service!!! VIVA BLUEGREEN MOTOR WERKS!!!

bmw7833,
Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I'm a regular at Vasu's BM Works for the last 4 years. Reasonable charges and able to resolve all the mechanical issues of my E39 todate. One word to describe my experience is "Happy" to be there and Vasu is a patience person!

I'm not trying to defend him over your weekend 'drama' but I have changed 4 absorbers there before and did not encounter any issues or any follow-up! For E39, changing absorbers was rather a "massive job" which could take up to 5 hours+ as the rear seat, c-pillars, rear parcel shelf needed to be dismantled.
Yes, after everything was done, I need to do the wheels alignment separately. Not sure what he meant by asking you to go to tyre shop "to do the absorbers".

Again, sorry to hear about your misfortune!

Hope all is well now!

7 hours is ok for me, normally i do not push mechanic to do quick for me.

I changed to coilover, so need to adjust the height after all.

It was my bad as never asked the labor at the 1st point and only realized when i want to pay the bill. But i know majority shop charge RM200-RM300 for the same work..ie WP Auto RM200, M Roadster RM250, M One RM250..

When i asked how come so expensive, he said RM100/pc is normal..:thefinger: What to do as everything has been done.

I thought this Vasu fella was quite highly recommended by some forumners here. Personally I have never been there but hearing what you shared, scary.

:smokin: indeed my freind ...sure sounds scary ...btw, who are these forumers that recommended this Vasu guy????:smokin: ....

As one united club ... we need to standby each other in fleecing out this "unscrupulous" operators who have no passion abt UDMs other than wanting to make as much money as they can and want!:thefinger:

Don't involve the person who recommended me in this case as i am willing to go to BMWorks in the 1st point. No one pushing me. He is nice and friendly guy.

maybe it was due to the coilover ...as when installing those they need to ensure the height , level of softness ( if you's is the soft hard type ) ...as coilovers do require some extra testing and adjustments ....

just my 2 cents

no wonder u were damn upset when i met u at WP Auto that day. Even didn't want to mention the workshop name... anyways, nice meeting u and glad that all is now solved

Bro, BMWorks even never adjust anything for me. They just put in the absorber like normal absorber and asked me to go to tyre shop to adjust the height. That's why i feel fishy. I paid them RM430 and hope that they able to do for me. Otherwise why i paid such high labor cost?

I doubt that they know how to adjust the coilover! Idiot workshop!

:smokin: point noted bro ... that is why we as a responsible individual, shud and must always be sincere in recommending to friends workshops that are established, worthy (the money spent) and have proven integrity among UDM owners.
Workshops recommended maybe cheap but is it worth the money having to spent hours with problem still lingering (more so if the labour its not cheap!)
with all due respect to your "nice and friendly guy" be wary himself of such situations .....:burnout:

anyway, good to hear that your problem solved! ;)
