Hi guys. I have tested all kinds of fuel for my UDM. I think that the Projet 92 fuel is very powerful and cheap compared to the normal petrol price which is RM1.51 per litre. The 92 only costs RM1.47 per litre. I only recommend this fuel for E36 models and below because I am using it now. Yesterday my tank was almost empty when I was on my way to work, so I decided to pump RM10 from the Petronas near my house because there's no Projet stations near my house. After pumping it I felt my car suddenly turned heavy and underpowered. My valves was noisy. I didnt bother about it and thought it was just the time for a service or to change the plugs. On my way back from work, I topped my tank up with Projet 92 fuel and what a suprise! My car regained back the usual power. At that point I realised that Projet 92 fuel is indeed powerful. Why dont you guys give it a try and let me know the difference and comments. If you never try, you'll never know! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Yup bro, tried it twice and did feel the difference...

But the sad thing is dat there r not many Projet stations around... :beaten:

hi bro fabian. Projet has 2 types of fuel. One is the 92 and the other one is 97. I guess it is unleaded because from what I know the Malaysian government has banned all leaded petrols.

i thought most bmws need at least min 95 octane?
i dont htink leaded fuels are ban, if they are ban, you won't be seeing any old jallopys running around...

you guys tak try mobil or esso ke?
if you are lucky, you will win a bmw.

:aggressive: i started to go to mobil since the promotion starts and isi petrol just to have a luck on it............ :aggressive:

Going now...
Cakap Power only...very fast ah!....

cable sudah pasang ke belum???

have been using Projet 92, but as for my car it is slightly underpowered.. and sometimes it gives me engine trouble...many times my car faced difficulty in starting up the engine..and speeding up is a dragging process..
then i switched to PRIMAX Petronas.. it is as good as they say..

most of the time its not the brand of petrol that causes a problem. It's the vendor that plays foul by contaminating the petrol with other substances. Even Projet does have certain stations whereby you use the petrol from there and no power at all and another one pump in..power. This are all the bad hat tricks that some of the vendors/petrol stations do to cut down cost by contaminatin the petrol which sucks big time.

There may be some truth to that. I've been pumping Shell lately from the new stations along Jln Damansara and it's been consistently satisfying. But the Shell stations along that area in Happy Garden and Sect 17 just don't feel the same.

If I am not mistaken, 92 octane fuel is leaded and 97 octane rated is unleaded. There is a reason why 92 is leaded and 97 is not, well its all boils down to pre-detonation and also the chemical properties of hydrocarbons.

I would suggest that you revert back to unleaded as per the manufacturer's instruction. Personally, I dunno whether these fuel is suitable for an engine that is suppose to run on unleaded fuel.

Not to mention you might fark up your O2 sensors and the exhaust catalyser.

According to my sources in the fuel industry... all petrol 92 or 97 are not leaded. Gomen rules.

Vladd, i don't think it's wise to use 92 ron due to detonation in your engine.

just my 2 sen

Got 2 agree wif dat

OKie, did some checking. most if not all RON 92 fuel in the country has been converted to unleaded since 1999  :) I supposed if there is no knocking then it will be alright to use it, but you should feel more vroommm if you use RON 97 fuel :D

beg to differ there Albundy, 92 octane and 97 octane fuels are both unleaded. The myth that higher octane means more power is true only up to a certain extent. For normal cars, a 92 octane fuel would suffice and any additional octane rating or AKI would provide very marginal boost. Since our engines are designed for street use and not typically racing (M-series owners ignore this comment )

An AKI of 92 would not cause detonation to occur in our engines or else there would be heaps of broken down UDMs out there with overheated pistons and cracked rings. On the contrary, 92 octane is actually the most cost-efficient for our engines (in this country anyway). Of course for those of you who have xtra cash to spare, 97 octane is a sure way maintaining the purity of your beast.

Moreover, pumping leaded petrol into our cars would cause very immediate effects.

Just my 2 cents :D

Wow...did it take me that long to write this post????

Apologies there Albundy B)
