My car is having power lost issues. When start up or at the traffic light the car wont pull off as it should..even thou i step on the gas the car will go so slow like siput until it slowly regain the speed (Really f.... slow!)..this only happen when pulling off from stationary position i.e at traffic light...when cruising no problem what so ever..i also notice when revving in P gear, the rpm will fluctuate and wont go high.Kindly seeking sifus over here for assistance. Tq

Looks very likely worn out clutch plates at the auto trans gearbox.

Thanks herbert for the insight...do you know how much will it cost me to change the clutch plate? Will it cost me a bom?

Replacing the GB clutch plates is a form of doing a complete overhaul of the GB. You are looking at approx. RM5k. Best is to check price with your workshop.

Tested going uphill? Any lost of power? Symptoms most likely due worn out clutch plates but best to double check with mech.

Tested...the problem also occur when climbing hill..but like i have mentioned before, it only occur when start up..i.e coming out of basement car park an straight on to ramp up...when paddling can see the gas consumption meter hit till max but car no have power..

its the gearbox no doubt... 5K seems to be the right number.. when you do that, make sure they replace the torque convertor lock up clutch as well.

you syntomps is more likely the malfunction of valve body due to sticky solenoid caused by dirty oil and friction plate debris

bro..try cleaning the MAF sensor first before goes for any repair, just a suggestion

My E46 328i had a similar problem and I have replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter. That improved the pick up but yesterday i noticed fuel over flowing from the pressure regulator and I'm told that might have been the original problem. I have pulled out the regulator and will try replacing a couple of o rings before replacing the entire regulator.

It might be worth checking that before the major repair.

Good luck

You may use this product bro, CRC MAF Cleaner. Last time I used it on my e46, noticeable increased response. But the problem you are facing may be resulted from what has been mentioned by the sifus above.

Bought my CRC from one of the car parts/hardware shops in PJ.

bro silverbullet thanks for the head up.....and just remember to unplug the connector first before cleaning it just to be safe.

When to have my problem check at sunway and found out the problem was cause by bad MAF as suggested by Mel279...pheww....only cost me RM450...does the price sound right??....also change my aircond FSU for RM300...my aircond been haywire for almost 1 month and im been driving my car without aircond since then...so hotttt!...Total damage = RM750....burn hole in pocket!wana cry!

try to check the air flow sensor(mass sensor),standby allowing air intake at least 13kg above, otherwise the power lost
