OEM or aftermarket brake pads

2010 BMW 328i. When I looked into the aftermarket brake pads, they are cheaper than the OEM pads. Choice are many, such as Akebono, Gz6rubber, Raybesto. Etc. I am wondering will aftermarket brake pads serve me better than OEM pads. Should I go with OEM pads for consistency or try something new. Thank you.

Hi,

There are numerous threads on brakes in the forum. One thing I would say from my experience is to be careful of non standard brake pads, they may give similar performance but some give out a lot of dust and some are very noisy, a bit embarrassing when you stop at a busy junction.
