No more Speed Trap Ambush

Educating approach. Sounds good and see if its enforced as claimed.

there was a speed trap on the penchala today...i guess they boys in blue didn't get the memo? (or don't read the papers even?)
in any case, i think it's a better way forward, as saman ekors do nothing to prevent accidents.
now that they're not hidden behind trees/signboards/pillars/etc, our traffic police can spend more time easing our traffic woes during peak hours, less time escorting vips, and more time issuing parking summons to those who indiscriminately leave their cars and cause jams.

...no more hidden traps is also good news for future drives anyway :D

Thats interesting. Make it clear like it is in the UK:

Either this

Or this

So you can see clearly where the camera is :4:

I think they will only have speed traps at places where they have put up speedtrap warning signs. There are many places in KV and along the highway with these signs.

No idea true or not.

A colleague of mine got hailed by cops around 2:30am on MRR2 last night, apparently they 'caught' her at 103km/hr when the speed limit was 80...

I thought they're supposed to be visible, even at night?

Maybe we should print or cut out that news article and show it to the cops when you are "AMBUSHED"!! :)

Usually on MRR2 I just ask the cops to send me the saman. Sometimes they fish for people one.

Once during CNY 2 years ago I was stopped on MRR2 at their usual spot under the big Kaspersky anti-virus advert. I knew since it was a festive season the penguins would definitely be out in full force so I stuck to the speed limit and guess what, they stopped me anyways. Said I was doing "112 km/h". I laughed at the officer and told him to send the saman. Guess what, it never came.

We can actually drive off without getting a ticket on the spot? I mean, we can ask the officer to send it to our home later ah if we get stopped at a roadblock?

haha...thn tht will be record for me...so far, elite, ldp, duke, seremban, malacca and johor still not active speedtrap area

The overhead bridge next to the USJ-Hicom exit on Elite is a favorite place for the laser guy. You can spot a grey plastic chair resting on the pillar for him to sit. That place is only 90 km/h but many people don't see the signs and continue on with 110 km/h.

We should fill plastic bags with cracked eggs and mix it with some feces. Let it simmer under the sun for a few days and then bomb the spots these penguins like to camp at. :)

This is normal practice for them actually. Been stopped many times after Tangkak toll heading to KL, but actually i was just exiting the toll. The speed trap was shot on the highway before the interchange. They'll come from behind, jot down ur car plate number and simply write the speed, i.e 121 km/h. So the thing is, how can i reach that speed if i just exit the toll? To make it simple, and to avoid them for charging me other offences e.g fancy plate no & tinted so i just give them some duit kopi.

They'll stop any fancy cars with the so called exceed speed limit which is actually we don't. If we mentioned that we're driving according to speed, they'll said that driving this BMW for sure u don't realise that u're speeding... but its a good idea if we tell them to send the summon to our house. Good advise bro

For me it's simple la...if I'm in the wrong then I will just ask them to issue saman. I refuse to give them duit kopi because I hate this culture. For PDRM to change, we the rakyat must change also.
