Had a discussion with another forummer from Puchong (ahem) about why filling your tyres with Nitrogen actually has a difference. I was very skeptical about this, due to the nonsence that the guys selling this service have to say about it. Probably due to their own ignorance as well.Verdict is, yes, it made a noticeable difference (for me anyways). If anyone is due for a tyre change, or would like to try, I'd recommend it as well.

I think all the pro's here are actually on nitrogen already. Also been hearing wonders about it but as yet have not converted. Someday ....Errr.... that guy in Puchong, is he the one that's not scare one ah? :D

I have no doubts about the benefit of nitrogen particularly compared to the normal air compressor which may contain moisture. But I can't be bothered to look for tyre shop everytime I want to adjust my tyre pressure! Also, last CNY my tyre pressure was low and I can't find any tyre shops that were open - so I reverted to normal air.

I heard once you have nitro in your tyre, you can't mix free air wor???

could you please clarify what are the pros and cons of putting nitrogen into the tire?it seems interesting, and i'm withholding my opinions and my knowledge about nitrogen.......

Nitrogen known as very stable gas in any condition...compared to compress air term to be expand when the temperature increase especially during hot sunny day. Nitrogen is lighter compared to compress air.....Mine will be all time with Nitrogen + Pirreli Dragon 225/45/17 the driving experience will feel smoother. ;) Regard

I cant remember the figure but air is what? 70% nitrogen?

agree with tempemental heat stability, but it happens in free form....in tires it is compress, and it was further compressed in the tanks to feed the pressure in.....how about vapour pressure and heat coefficient transfer during in a high presuured environment, will the nitrogen gas have similair characteristics in free air state, vacumm environment, in a compressed state.......and so many more questions to ask....feel free to add......i'm still curiousanother interesting question is , how pure is the nitrogen gas, and how much has it been compress to feed into the pressure meters, as i know, gas changes characteristics with pressure, temperature and purity mix with other forms of gas

Bro 3er Air is 78% Nitrogen and 21% Oxygen...Nitrogen is known as inert gas where it's does not react at any ordinary temperature and pressure and Oxygen was far more reactive.pure Nitrogen (95-99%) mean we get rid of Oxygen molecules....+ more clean gas, clean from particles, oil vapour & humidity. Air is oxygen-poor and inert (=low reactive) :D So the advantages of Pump in the Nitrogen gas on your donut...-Donut pressure remain far constant (the molecules loss by the donut rubber wall is reduce-pressure loss by diffusion)-More driving safety by better handling characteristic.-Nitrogen avoide oxidation of the rim and valve seat.-Donut rubber is protected inside againt oxidation by the low oxygen share.-Higher durability of donut caused by optimised rolling resistance-More comfort by better taking up impactsOn the other hand it's can save your fuel comsumption cause by the lower rolling resistance......your driving feel smoother with it. :p JUST MY 2 peso ;)

Good one Mont-oya! Now we know. If only all petrol stations have nitrogen machines........

was on nitrogen since 1-2 years back liao lor.. the good thing is.. only re-fill 6-9mths a time.. good for lz people like me.. hehehe... :D

GUys ..i have been using nitrogen for sometime now .I guess it has made a significant difference for me as the ride is smoother and tyre pressure holds for at least three months ...cheers :D

Me dun feel any difference but because of peer pressure also went to fill up with nitrogen

hahaha... farking funny dude. this is probably enough reason (at least this guy's sincere) for most to go nitrogen... my brother had every tyre he could find at home on nitrogen including an old bicycle!

There will be new inert gas coming to the market, call grassogen. It's the by-products of smoking weed and the US is hoping to use Afghanistan as the major producer to revive its economy ;)

Muahahahaha ..... good one !!!!Maybe the US can also use methane as it's a natural byproduct of the large quantity of bull shit they are producing.

Hey guys i will be heading to sunway ( mun Jee's ) place to refill the nit's after 4 months anyone for a convoy from caltex sunway arnd 11am .... \cheers

I was on nitrogen but now on air.Reason - 2 of my rims were repaired and the repair shop does not have nitrogen so I asked him to release the other 2 rims and filled up with air as well. Will probably refill with Nitrogen again when I next visit my tyre shop in Ipoh - don't have to check tyre pressure every month. In the past I always go back to the same tyre shop to check pressure and refill - they don't charge for that but troublesome since I work in KL and the shop is in Ipoh.Is the nitrogen the same everywhere or is there a difference ?
