ladies & gentleman, just introduce myself in the newbies session a moment ago. today evening put the deposit for the 2008 pre-owned 325i at ingress auto. the car mileage is 16+++km & the sales said it is used by their manager. now, i feel a lil bit doubt bout the car, afraid that it's being used for bmw driving training. when i want to test drive today, the car isn't there since it being use for golf tournament(as what the sa told me)..If the car being used for driver training, is it ok to buy? To all of you guys, is it worth for me to invest in the car for the price of rm 220 000?For the deposit, is it refundable if let say when i test drive later on monday, i feel unsatisfied with the car?please share with me your thoughts as I really need bmw owner to opininon at the moment.Thank you.Haku

Hi Haku,

welcome to the club...the 325i is an excellent choice and congratulations..

the mileage seems to be a little high for the year..

for example, there is one in AB Oct 2008 with 100 kms for around RM235k

thats my 2 sen...

regards

Welcome Haku, and it should be ok. :) The BMW Advanced Driver training isn't organised by the dealers. Talk to the Sales Manager or Branch Manager and ask for a complete history of the car - who drove it, what was it used for, etc. What's more important than the mileage is to establish the length of warranty and BSRI left to run because that covers any defects and problems that may be there. That's something that may be negotiable, as they're under pressure to push out all the 2008 units left in stock. Hard times ahead bro.

You really shouldn't have put down the deposit until you had test-driven and satisfied yourself that it's the unit you want, but if you really find an issue with it, I'm sure IA will not hold you to it. The Branch Manager there is a very decent chap and that value is infused into all the staff. :top:

any kantau on 325 m-sport with AB??

U neglect to mention what month the car is registered in 2008? if its a full 12 months (say registered january and up till now) i will say 16k km mileage is an average use....how ever if the car is registered on september and the mileage is already 16k km its different story all together.

However, being 2008 and genuine mileage of less than 20k km with warranty by BMW malaysia...at rm220k, it is wayyyyyyy better buy than the recon jap spec 325 from NAZA....no history, unverified original mileage, useless idrive, jap language, no warranty.

Thank you very much guys for the feedback. the car registered in april or may 2008. First of all, I admit that I am a little bit impatient maybe after 10 years waiting to drive a BMW. Well, hopefully I will have a good experience in my first UDM ownership.

BMW 9700,
I did see the car in AB. Unfortunately wifey not interested in the interior color(beige). Other thing, I am afraid of the after sales from AB base on what I read in this forum.

Schwepps,
yup, the IA people is very good & very open to discussed. Feel more confident to negotiate with them.

By the way,
today evening will get a chance to see the car, hopefully it is is pristine condition. I will talk to the SA & GM further.

Again, thank you very much guys for your response.

Sifu's,
Any 'lubang for nice 18 in rim ka??? :listen:
Plan to get rid of 17 in & the RFT.

Errr ... as i recall they have a 1year warranty and currently doing a 3 years warranty promo. Plus the fact that all their BMW is either top of the line M-Sport or premium package plus theirs is new (i.e. delivery mileage). Thy're a big company and AP is not a problem ... why would they want to play with the mileage??? play with the AP yes but not with the car :D

Yes they provide 1 year warranty - by taken up an insurance to cover the engine and gearbox only. If you plan to buy a jap car, then maybe its still ok, but a conti, the thing that most likely to go wrong is the electrical/ electronic or sensors which eventually get the car stalled.

I visited naza pj before to look at their e90 and e60, even the standard e90 325, they are selling at rm260k for year 06 model.
For 525 sport they're selling at 270k for 2004 model.

Why would they wanna play with mileage? because buyers tend to buy a lower mileage car. Have a look at their undercarriage, suspensions, lower arm, lower engine bay....the condition doesn;t resemble a 15k km car mileage if you get what i mean...

the most easy part, is the driver seat, so worn off and yet the mileage is less than 20k km? i don;t buy it!!!

lol ... bro the seat is worn off cos too many people looking and sitting at the car it's normal for a showroom car ... 20k km??? r u sure cos as i recall they don't import recon cars ... they just bring in new cars ... well that's the case with their E46 anyways ... and the warranty covers gearbox, engine, axle, chassis and electrical components as well I know cos i bought from NAZA :D

p/s: As for the mileage NAZA would not be so foolish playing with the mileage ... why would they when they're AP king ;) ... i've checked mine at MSpeed and it's lower than what is displayed in the car ... go figure :D

i guess what u mentioning is meant for brand new jap spec from naza...those are e46's...maybe since its "brand new" they cover the electrical...but e90 325 that i saw at PJ show room during their sale last 2 months definitely not "brand new" they are recond and selling at rm260k++ not remember exact figure.
I asked the salesman there why are u selling this 20k km 2006 model at that price when BMW M;sia selling their 325 at rm270k...and that is 2008 model with 0km mileage...imagine how far back dated the software of the 2006 model....and yet selling at that price...and his only explanantion is...ITS CBU MAAAA ...hahaha

I dont know bout you but for me its plainly over priced....even the secondhand 325sport 2007 model with 20k km mileage can be had at rm225k...just because their car is not registered doesn;t mean its brand new...

For recond car, naza only give 1 year warranty for engine and gearbox only....i know this coz i also bought my rx8 from them and my cousin bought his c200k from them as well.

Haku,

Have you tested the car? BTW, what color? Silver or Black? It was at 244K three months ago.

WRT 2008 pre-owned unit at AB, pls verify the VIN for yourself. I'm sure you will be surprised.

For E46 it's Euro Spec straight from the German factory NOT UK spec or JAP spec dat i can confirm bro :D if you bought from them then i'm sure you have the little green booklet ... have a read and you'd be surprised :D

sold the car already ler...thank god no warranty claim is required for the whole tenure!! hehehe

after sometimes i now realised how big their profit margin being able to monopoly recond import scene here in m;sia...
taking advantage from limited model/spec/brand available here in M;sia, they managed to sell their car sometimes more expansive than a brand new car....

for instant back in 2003 when mazda rx8 was launch in japan, Naza brought in its recond unit and sell it at rm280k...now that Bermaz officially brings in the rx8 and manage to sell it brand new with warranty for rm238k. Same goes with EP3 Type R, Naza sell this car back in 2003 for over rm230k now Honda M;sia brings in FD2R for only rm198k....the list is just too long...the best example is their Golf Gti MK V with ABT bodykit!! Manufactured 2005 and selling at rm250k...come on, VW M;sia sell their GTI for only rm185k ..and their ABT equipped model is rm230k..with manufacturer warranty and 2009 model..

Yes it can be a real PITA when dealing with NAZA and monopoly is never a good thing but i was determined to get what i want regardless of the pain and suffering i had to endure cos at the end it was worth it IMHO :D hehehe

Bro Lefthanded,

I tested the car yesterday...its still in good shape except that the tyre noise is quite irritating me..
Th ecolor is silver graphite(correct me if i'm wrong).

Go ahead... Sparkling Graphite is one of good unit. You'll get used to the tire noise. Normal for RFT.

It's Sparkling Graphite guys... :) Good luck with your purchase haku. Bargain hard!
