Yeah, always dream't of having a roadster until I actually drove one. Most uncomfortable for a softie like me :p

Are you an STi man supergripen? Noticed your avatar and signature. Isn't the Subaru WRX STi just awesome? Enjoyed that immensely...but also uncomfortable

Tested the 6 series just before Hari Raya break. No problem with that ride for me! :D

Of course lah! The 6s are super luxury coupes and convertibles. They're not roadsters by a mile...

yup..i'm a Subaru nut.drive an STi and loving every minute of it.this thing is in a different league when it comes to speed..even my E36 M3 felt slow.but here's the thing..these cars are made for speed, and i don't mean speed in a straight line.throw any type of corner at it and it'll smile at you and ask "is that all???"

yes,the ride is firm..much firmer than bimmers and mercs.but its much much more comfy than most Jap turbo monsters.and people don't buy these monsters to waft along..for that you have the E93 which brings us back to the topic at hand.nice car,the E93..looks like a boulevard cruiser which is not my cuppa.bet my wife will like it though..

but i love the twin turbo inline6..put that in a Z4,please BMW!!!!!:D

Of course the E93 is a boulevard cruiser. But it's one with serious street cred ;) I like it!

Agree with you fully about the WRX STi. It's really rally ready and if you like that kind of aggressive turn-in, slide-round driving, there's nothing in the world that can beat it, not even the Evos, and certainly not the supercars like the 911s. I'm just a softie though and can only take too much of that :)

BTW, supergrippen, my former partners in STi crimes have bought a Type C this year. That is the most awesome version ever. They won't even fit an aircond in it and actually use the little hatch on the front roof for ventilation! They're mad (which is why I opted out of the group) and I bet you are too!

Anyway, back to the E93, it's too bad our climate doesn't suit convertibles huh? Only good for early morning alone-time saunters and evening posing along cruise avenues. I gotta say that when push comes to shove, what the heck use is a convertible here?

I meant that as a joke! ;) At my age, a 6 series is the only "roadster" I want to drive. When I was in Univ, I helped my friend build his Caterham. Don't know if that would fit your definition of a roadster, but, boy oh boy, was it fun to drive! :D :D :D

Yes, a Caterham is definitely a roadster and are still available as kit cars in the UK if you're interested :) It's cheap and fun. The Brits produced some of the most loved roadsters starting with the many MGs and then classic examples like the Austin Healey and Triumph Spitfire. The Americans had beauties too in the early Corvettes. Latter day examples include the venerable Mazda Miata, Porsche Boxter, Merc SLs and BMW Zs.

I desperately wanted a Miata at one stage and test-drove a friend's unit. Like for many whimsical things, found out that the fantasy was better than the reality, for me at least

You and I would probably prefer the cushy 6 and CL coupes pkw88, but it's best not to mention age or the youngsters among us will tease :D

yup..the spec-C is an absolute belter.every DNA in the C is meant for it to go FAST.there's not even carpet linings in the boot to save weight.this car will give a 911 GT3 a good run..but the ultimate will have to be the Litchfield Type-25.lookie here... www.type-25.com

about being MAD,well..ask Funfer Fahrer,he knows.i'll leave it to others who knows me to judge.
but age catching up tho, hence why i chose the more 'sedate' STi over the Spec-C.
