Guys/sifu,I need advice on an M-tech steering which i brought from Japan.I tried installing it on my e28 but it doesnt fit my car.RB mentioned that my steering is for e30 & e28 SE model.Behind the BMW center logo has a small e28 wording. My question is how do we know what BMW model can the steering fits? There's a serial no on the steering i brought: A3 & KBA 70 073 (what does this mean?). Also, i saw another steering that says BMW E - A20. (what does this mean?)Can someone please help me out?Cheers

If no one knows for sure, just PM me your last 7 digits of chassis number and I can check the P/N of the MTEC wheel that would fit yr E28, with the online heritage catalogue.

Or you could even sign up for it yourself, is a great help in finding part numbers.

Mr Nemesis,How do i sign up for this online heritage catalogue? Can you give me the website?Cheers

Sure:

http://www.bmw.com/com/_shortcuts/mobiletradition/

Then click on mobile tradition link, then parts supply and select historic parts catalogue. Finally click on now online historic parts catalogue.

Once you registered will get an email, where your identification is yr user name and administrator is yr password.

Think thats it, any problems gimmie a shout.

E28s manufactured before mid-1985 (May??) have a different steering boss design to the E30s and post mid-85 E28s.

Mtech steering wheels with the earlier design are quite hard to come buy but do occasionally pop up on Ebay.
