Am driving a 1 series.I just noticed that my front RFTs are wearing out on the sides, almost botak (sides) and my back tyres seem to be fine. I have done about 28,000km so just wondering how often do we need to change the tyres, or should I move the front tyres to the rear?Any advice is much appreciated.Cheers.

Mine are due for a change anytime soon at 32K km

Tyre wearing on the sides (I assume both inner and outer sides), that's a sign of under inflated tyres. What pressure u running now?

Rotate tyre is not advisable for spirited drive style because each tyre surface is worn to a unique pattern at each corner of the car. Rotate them will allow them to wear more evenly but by doing so, each tyre has to learn to set in at each new location on during these times, you suffer insufficient grip due to the now new tyre surface to road surface contact patch.

U are supposed to rotate the tyres... Front to rear, left to right or flip inside out, depending on the tyre thread (symmetical, asymmetrical, directional bla bla bla)

Ideal rotation duration is every 5000km... This is to ensure the tyre wear on all 4 tyres are almost similar...

But most people couldn't be bothered.. (like u and I... :p) So ended up changing 2 pcs at a time instead of all 4 at one go...

Thanks astroboy.

Shiatz...maybe the tyres are underinflated...as for your question...how do I check the pressure reading?!?:stupid::stupid:

Actually, this is gonna sound so stupid, but when pumping air into the tyres, what is the correct settings? I can never seem to figure that out...
