My First Ride

My first ever car, and no, it wasn't a Bimmer to be honest. It was a Daimler XJ40, and I loved it so much. Got the car back in 2004 and it was simply an astonishingly quick car. Two digit number plate, awesome rims, 3.6L engine, leather seats, sunroof, and of course, the kudos it got from my uni mates back then. I mean, what else could a young soul like me at the age of 18 actually wished for as his first ride?? Ahh, the good old days. The car was not without it's fair share of electronic gremlins, but I adored it to bits. But now, WGM 39 is no longer with us. Fully scrapped after it was written off in an accident back in late 2006. Anyways, enjoy the pictures, Jag lovers! :love:

My first car i bought was an Austin Montegro bought for GBP100 when i was 20yrs old lol 2nd car after that was a peugot 205GT bought for GBP150 what a superb car to run around in town :love:

1st car i drove was a volvo 244GL (PAH 5007) when i was 15+ yrs old ... hehehe i was the only kid in subang that drove a volvo to school when in form 4 :love: a tank of a car indeed :top:

Old man got a car for me when I was 19........my first car was a RM30k 7-year old Saga. It wasn't much but I had the Saga with all the bells and whistle as it is the top-of-the-line model!

Cannot afford contis at that time......too expensive (to buy and maintain) :listen:

To drive a Daimler as the first car must be darn interesting.....esp in college or uni! Cause when I am still driving my Saga those days, all my college mates used to cramped in my car cause I am one of the few whom actually own my own ride and not shared with other family members. And I am from Limkokwing so when I said those days and people cramping into my Saga meaning a long long time ago hahaha............now you drive a Saga there I think people think you are a pariah or something hehe

Bro, that Mini is epic! An all-time classic! Hehe, super small, but oh gosh, how did it go? Like stink indeed! Pocket rocket I'd say.

My primary English teacher used to drive a small Mini, and he was such a tall and lanky fella! Was amazed as to how he could fit into the car in the 1st place!

Then my uni buddy has this widebody Mini, and he said his bro once reached Penang from KL in less than 2 hours with it. Haha.

So lucky, I started with a used 10yrs old C70 at the tender age of 16. Then graduated to a used datsun 120y at 19yrs old. Bought a brand new Corolla and swapped with my dad's Nissan Sunny at 22 yrs old. Was driving the Sunny till 27yrs old then got my first UDM a 328(used car), almost a year later it was stolen. :sleep:

Alfetta was old man's car la.. bought brand new in 1985 for RM38k.

Bro, you studied in the UK too ah? Where at? Haha. London? My parents also studied there. Dad bought a Mark I Ford Capri and mum got herself E21 3 series.

Heard the cars there were super duper cheap. Just drive until kong and leave by roadside. Did they have MOTs back then?

205GT? The hatchback? Wahhh. Read rave reviews about it bro. Didn't opt for the Citroen AX? or Saxo? Whichever prevailed during that era. Haha. Or Sierra Cosworth?

Btw, I hardly drove it to classes cos I studied nearby. Preferred to walk and save on parking fees. Only drove when hanging out with my mates on weekends or going for outings.

Never really carried that many people back then in my car though. I was told my colleague once carried like 7-8 people in his Kia Sephia. Hahaha. Amazing. :top:

Bro, the first Saga still remains the best I heard, in terms of build quality and reliability. Still see a fair number of them running around, especially the hatchback ones.

That's nice bro. Nissan Sunny is pretty reliable. Still see many in use up till today. Heck, even our detailing alien KC bro still drives one! :top:
