My E66 730Li

Hi Maccasel, what is the FC for your 740Li? mine about 13.5l/100km, both on screen as well as actual measurement by pump.

I'm getting slightly higher FC, now doing about 15 or 16l /100km....a drinker she is....hehehe

Comparing the steptronic on both E66 and E39, E66 The steptronic located on steering is not as user friendly as the gear stick, especially during cornering!

This is the downshift button...both left and right

this is the upshift button

But i think these buttons are well locate too

Yeah, but when you turn the steering, not easy to press the button as it turn together.

Another "bad side" about the Li version beside parking - tried to reach to some documents placed at the back seat today, almost strained my arm reaching for them!

Mine is the N62 b40 if I'm not mistaken....4000 cc, 302hp and 390nm....

Say, did u do any updates to your I drive? How bout gps?
Got it for less than 300 grand la....the depreciation is scary...hehehehe

No i have not done anything to the idrive, what particular updates you are refering to? i was considering the GPS. i checked the price is RM500 for old version and RM2,800 for new version.

i guess its updating the current version since your is 08 model, if that is possible for this model, however i am sure yet what the upgrade enhances....havent found out yet.....hehehehe

How was it?

I was in the showroom with a friend collecting his E90 and saw the BMW individual 7 series.
The piano black Steinway and Son special edition is so plush inside as if it is only made for the royalty.
The 7 M sport on the other hand looks jaw droppingly gorgeous. Sat in it and didnt really want to get out.


Didnt have the guts to ask for test drive of the 7 as I was in T shirt and shorts with flip flops! afterall, Not alot of late 20s dude will be potential buyer for such cars...

will be great if you could give us a good account of your experience with the New 7.

* Hope the F10 which chassis is based on the 7 can deliver some near 7 ownership experience with 5 series maintainence..

Yes i did, a F02 730Li. I would say not much difference with the E66 but with a fiercer look and bigger kidney grill.

The market for 7 series is very limited. mainly on politicians, businessmen, senior corporate guys and those with drivers. that is why the used car market price drop like no tomorrow. compared to 3 series whereby the second hand market hold up very firm.

Young chap in twenties would not be suitable to drive a 7 series as most people will think he is driving his dad's car. So F10 is good choice for you i suppose.
