my car wont rev over 3k rpm

dear sifu

my bmw E36 325i , after change thermostat and idle manifold valve control today , i realise that my car wont rev over 3k rpm when i try to speed. heard the sound pop pop from my exhaust and seems the car power all loose up .

then i realise the idle manifold valve got 2 pipes to plug in , the smaller pipe has drop from the socket.
would this cause the car wont push over 3k rpm ?

update , after my engine cool off , i found the hose and plug in again . now my car can rev over 3k .

anyone can share how to reset the ecu or reset the driver driving behavior system , always i feel the gear change only during high rpm around 3-4. driving 60 yet the gear box like running at gear 3 only .

try para 25 below....does not cost you anything...mybe rm 1-2 in fuel ...
