Thx. I got the armrest from Lionel. I believe he is also a forumer here.

Nice clean ride there Anxious. Love the black paint of yours. Guess what, the amber turning signal lights (front and back) looks great on dark colour cars but not on silver or white :)

Clean interior too, I guess you have invested lots of money and time in maintaining this baby :)

Great one~

Cheers

I have spent over RM20k since getting her in April this year. If you had been following my earlier thread, you would have noticed that I almost got a "heart attack" with my initil repair bills which had touched RM15k in the first month. Paint & tyres set me back anor RM5k.

Luckily since then nothing major. Serviced the car recently. I have done 10000km since getting the car and I look forward to driving it everyday.

I just got the armrest last week and booked the exhaust tail pipes from AB on Saturday (RM230+ per set of 2) and should be getting it sometime this week.

It truly is a labour of love, restoring the car as and when finance permits.

keep it stock m8 :top: its looking like a real clean & solid motor .. nicely done

Dude! Liking that 3 spoke steering a lot! Nice one. Keeping it nice and stock I see. You should consider a few choice mods as you go along. Will add to the satisfaction. My 2 cents?

1. go with some period appropriate rims, either stock like what Mr Lee has on his ride or aftermarket;

2. drop her by a wee bit, eibach pro kits come to mind maybe paired with koni adjustables to keep the comfort I guess but many here swear by bilsteins;

3. M3 front bumper and rear lower valance (is that what you call them?) - dont bother with the side mirrors I think the stock ones look cool too for the sedan; and

4. maybe the M3 spoiler as well though this is optional as I think the look is still quite balanced without it (for sedan, but for coupe the spoiler becomes a must I think)

The other stuff can come like after market roll bars etc. but you'd be too busy enjoying your ride to care after that..... :D

Take care dude.

Thanks for the suggestions Jipster. My E30 was also stock standard until I sold her to my friend who also maintains the car very well.

My main goal is to get the car as close as I can to when the car was new without breaking the bank.

Since the tyres and suspension is new, I'll keep it stock for now. Skirting arent really my taste.

I have just ordered chrome tail pipe extensions for my exhaust tip from AB and should be getting this week. It costed me RM230+ for the pair.

Next on my list is to change the bushings:-

i) Control Arm Bush (Front)
ii) Trailing Arm Bush (Back)

Any other bushes?

What is the price difference b/w the M3 bushes and ordinary one?

Thanks

subframe?

if have roll bars - roll bar bush

engine mount

tranny mount

speaking only from e30 experience though.....

Thanks. Engine & Transmission Mountings done. Subframe should be ok.

Anti roll bar bushing, I'll also look into that. Thanks

nice to see it after hearing how hard youve been maintaining it, but shouldnt it be in the showroom subforum? lol

Cool car Abg Anxious..

I am saving your car pictures to show to my home minister...great shots.
In the process of convincing her to scrap her plans for a Latio and take an E36 instead.

Thanks, it not leather but fabric. The previous owner bought the car new when he was in his fifties and his childeren was all grown up, so the seat were in ok condition. I only needed to steam clean it.

Initially I was thinking of replacing it with leather but after I had my big "bomb" repair bill ( read my earlier thread on my E36 experience), I KIV the leather thing. Now I am quite happy with it and have decided to keep the fabric.

As for rims, I may consider it when my tyres wear out but for now its still new, only done 10k km or so.

My concentration is now on refreshing my rubber bushes which is inspired by Lee36328's "New bush puts a smile on your face " thread.

Good to see you've finally overcome most of the initial grief and hidden surprises. Naughty old man, the previous owner.

The "I wanna keep it stock" tune is sung by many, but sustained by previous few. And easy availability of enhancement parts just makes it worse. You are lucky to have an understanding other half (or you do a really good job of hiding the bills.) The addiction will get worse with time.

For someone careful with money, you've already spent 20k. The pleasure/pain has just started. We are helpless passengers on the mod roller-coaster. Strap in and enjoy the ride... :19:
