Hi all,

Could not find any compiled list of recommended spare part shops for all BMW models (old - new) so hope someone can share hoping it would be really helpful to all members here as it would to me.

I am really interested to buy ori/OEM interior and exterior parts for my E39; eg. winshield cowl, cabin filter housing duct, rubber stuff, wooden interior or console surround stuff; to restore my car to showroom condition but not sure where to look. Not interested with Autobavaria/ any BMW malaysia as I believe they will slaughter u alive. So hoping got some shoplot kind of spare part shops that sells full range of BMW parts. So far am buying from ebay only but sometimes does not fit 100% as it should so I prefer to buy straight from shop.

Anyone care to share shop name, location and contact?

Thanks in advance

Bro, if you are looking for those kind of stuff, particularly the interior wood, rubber and plastic stuffs, you are not going to find it new in any shop locally. If you are lucky maybe you can find one or two items but not all.

To find those kind of stuffs you need to go around half cut shops and buy it used. I used to go around to a few chop shops regularly looking at half cuts to see whats available. Now a little bit busy and don't go to half cut shops as much as I used to, but hoping in this near future to have the time to do so again.

FYI E39s are aplenty at chop shops these days, as the prices are affordable for most people and they are starting to buy these cars cheap and converting them.

If you really want new, maybe you can try Schmiedmann.com or bmminiparts.co.uk but beware with the import taxes as Schmiedmann items gets shipped out with big SCHMIEDMANN BMW SPECIALIST logo on their boxes which brings attention to customs officers. Another good one its Cotswolds BMW which is a UK dealer but do some good prices on their parts.

Alternatively, we have an E39 group based in Batu Caves area with a very good spare parts/chop shop links and one of us have even started his own workshop which deals with primarily E46s and E39s :)

I would say you can get most of e39 spare parts from Bavarian Auto.

Agreed....if the parts not in the shelf, they will order it for you...of course you have to pay upfront.. :)

Thanks guys for the reply. Bavaria auto sounds like a butcher shop. Anyway went to optimum and orderd some plastic parts and their supplier seems to have all the parts. Anyone knows where Optimum order from? I feel the shop they order from is not far from optimum (20 mins response time usually) and quite reasonable even after Optimum marks up. Just curious. I always like car part shops that sells only car parts. Hate those who keeps accessories and parts together. they should be seperated if not I feel like they are not specialize and price of normal parts may be much higher as well

I think optimum orders fron BA or stuttgart.

Anyway I dont go to Optimum much, cannot tahan their mark up price. Sometimes more than double the price at BA. But their workmanship is good so you get what you pay for.

Dr78, bavaria auto and auto Bavaria are two different non related entity. One just do parts. One sells car and service. Therefore please take note of that. For me just today only, I got things from ba and they were the cheapest among five I called

I have bought a few original BMW parts from Bmvauto online and they are reliable and prompt on delivery. Even parts that are not listed on their website, you just give them the part number and they will give you a quotation.

i would say king hup is probably the best. I am not a big fan of bavarian auto. had some issues with the puchong branch (long story........)

DR 78,

If i am not mistaken Optimum orders their stuff from Confident Auto i seen the label on the sparepart box.

Optimum charges are going up rock high if you don't check the bill and just doule confirm with Studguard or Bavarian Auto sometimes 3x more we are paying.

Workmanship is good and fast not for all the owners some have issues unsolved too.

Newer models owners seems to like M Speed @ USJ from what i hear.

Cheers :69:
