bmchai write in (Where is The_NECC?)what a waste of bandwidth....dear moderators, pls be a bit consistent, if you allow some members to start/post nonsense threads, while others are warned against doing so.....hmmm...
Dear bmchai,Thank you for raising your concerns. The moderators are looking into this. Can i just start by saying that we try to be impartial in handling issues like this. We don't take sides and we don't want to sideline anyone. We want to be and try to be fair. At the same time, we recognise that a balance needs to be struck to provide you with a forum which is informative yet fun. The issue of wasting bandwith is one which we struggle with because of the limitation of resources available. There are posts which falls on a spectrum of how much bandwith is wasted and how unnecessary it is. It could be a meaningless smiley posted, a full page of photos of unrelated subjects, or a cut and paste article of something which does not concern the forum objectives. Discretion is exercised in this case as there are no hard and fast rules. There are some which may be left alone to a certain point when it becomes annoying to the other members of the forum. An example of this would be hijacking technical threads with private chats. In some cases, it could be an oversight in which we ask fo your tolerance. Please use the "report" function available in each post to let us know.Just because a thread is not deleted or no warning is raised does not mean that it is condoned. This forum belongs to all, and the moderators are here to facilitate the constructive usage of resources available to achieve the common objectives of the bmw lovers, which is to use this common platform to share the joys and tribulations of bmw ownership and appreciation. We are happy that it has brought together many like minded individuals and created opportunities for networking and friendships. However, we want to maintain the forum as a neutral meeting point for all bmw lovers and would be lovers (who do not know it yet! ) Hence, certain rules and policies have been established to guide us to this end. Regards,Betty Boop.
