I used Turtle Wax ICE liquid (RM99)polish. It is the worst stinker of a product I've ever used.I washed the car with ICE car (RM53) washing liquid first. I wash the car top to bottom using a microfiber cloth for the top upper body and another cloth for he lower part. After drying with 2 new microfiber absorbent cloths, I apply ICE to the car.I let the oily polish stay on for about 40 minutes to dry and then proceed to buff lightly with 2 separate new microfiber cloths. The results seem at first to work as advertised...shiny. The paint seems darker than before. The 2 days later, tiny scratches or cracklines appear especially where the sunlight shines most. There is about 2 marks on my bootlid and a 3 tiny scratches/swirl marks on my bonnet. Worst still, the paintwork on the bootlid seem to be lifted or bloating seem to be taking place. It is all very subtle and can be seen if looked at closely (about not more than 10 inch away) Never will I used this product again. Looks like I may have to do some costly spray painting to repair the marks left behind. In my decade of owning cars, this product seem incompatible with our tropical climate. I've used Polyglaze Diamond (aussie product), CarPlan metallic (supposedly british), Autoglym :top: (quite good british product), Meguair 1-2-3 :top: (american product), Soft 99 (japanese) and Perma :stupid: (used once and never again).I am just curious now:::Is Meguair NXT synthetic formula polish the same as Turtle ICE or is it better?Anybody care to comment please?

turtle wax got cause scratches?

i think there might be scratches already to begin with, or

there's sand / abrasive molecules in your polish, or

the polish might not contain fillers with essentially fill up those scratches and holes, hehe, so the polish does what it says, polish the paint work without filling up those holes and scratches. so they become visible!!!

Meg's NXT wax has good nice shine and smell, only thing it doesn't last as long as many wish it would.

Same experience with Turtle Ice polish

Turtle live on heavy ads and promos.
I buy mine from Carefour for RM 72 promo price.

Many swirlling markings on my black car after using it.

before no such marks. i wasted my money.

maybe meguaire is not the same?

maybe better no use synthetic polish anymore lah.

my mechanic oso got car painting bizness. he say no use wax. paint will thin in no time!!

I've been using NXT Tech Wax for a year now, no problems so far.
agree, i use for almost 2 years :top: the layer of wax stays for about 1 month, with normal washing once a week, i find 4 advantages of NXT Tech Wax
1) remove light swirl mark easily
2) the layer of cloud after waxing is hardly visible, so u dun need extra effort to buff them off
3) the smell of NXT is so sooooo...sweet, almost lick my car when i first use it, muhahahaha
4) water glide off easily, either rain water or during car wash, so u dun need much effort to dry it and best of all, even if u dun dry it, it wont leave watermark

Actually if the wax did a good job of cleaning the surface, it might actually make surface imperfections more visible (e.g. swirls and holograms) because they might previously have been filled up, so after cleaning, they are more obvious in the light.
Also, if your car is covered in swirls, there is no need for a full respray. Just take it to a good machine detailer to get it corrected.

I have been washing my 2005 Toyota using Giant dish detergent that sells in bulk from Giant Hypermarket and an occasion wax to remove stain with Soft99. Near 3 years now and the car still looks brand new.. :D Of course, sheltered parking both at work and at home la. But that was Toyota la.

With my E90, dunno what to use. Went and bought the Perma polymer polishing liquid and polymer car wash. Using the car wash now on the E90 but I still have some Carnauba wax with me, so the E90 is on Carnauba wax while the Toyota is on the Perma Polymer Polish.. :D

Perma cannot pakai meh? Its is polymer polisher and not wax mah..

Must go to the Meguiar Detailing briefing to learn more.. :D
