Max Rev's for E28

Hi All!!Just wanted to ask how to get maximum Rev's out of e28 520i cause mine only rev's to 5.5k...previously it used to rev up to 7k... wonder wat affects the rev's which makes it reduce to 5.5kPlease Help!~FYI my car is stock car.. no upgrades or hanky panky stuff in it.. fully standard...

Check your rotor arm. It is inside the distributor cap. It is also good to change the cap if it has not been done before.
