M54B30 Swap into E36 318is. Possible?

Is it possible to swap a M54B30 engine into my E36 318is (retaining my gearbox and final drive etc, just change engine only)? Cause I am concern with Nikasil problems associated with M52 engines. Not sure if local engines are affected by this problem or not.
 
M42 flywheel is too small to handler d power of M54B30 .......

U can use back d gearbox which is getrag 220 ...But u need to change d flywheel to at least 328 with 9 inch clutch ...If can get d E36 M3 flywheel then even better .....

For d rear axle .....M42 using 3.45 which is too high for M54B30 .... U need 3.15 and below ratio to get a better rpm especially at d high speed .....

Another thing ...ur M42 rear axle is a small housing .....so if u change to 3.15 ratio or below which is big housing .....u need to change d drive shaft and u might need to modified d long shaft as well....

Malaysian petrol is better than US and UK grade petrol mate. If the M52 engines were effected by the Nikasil issue the Malaysian M52 based cars would not have survived till today on the road with 150,000km - 220,000 kms on the road and still going strong. Don't believe all that you read in the internet.

E36 sifu has spoken.

No worry on nikasil issue. I just overhaul my M52 engine & the lining still ok. Even the piston still ok & I just change oversized piston ring & get it retrofit. Just change engine oil regularly help maintain the engine. Since yrs E36 better get engine that fit the body to avoid headache:top:
 
Well i've seen an E30 with M54B30 engine on youtube .... In fact there's an E46 being installed with a E93 V8 engine in Sth Africa i think :D so anything is possible :) Malaysia BOLEH!!!
