hi..anybody with m performance suspension? is it ready to be ordered from any dealers? if so is it only for f30 335i? or retrofited to f30 328i & 320i as well...

From the details I have, it would fit the 328 and the 335.
Given that the 320 and the 328 share the same OEM parts for the suspension, the M Performance suspension should fit on that too.

Heard in grapevine MSport variant should made available very soon. It'll be awesome handling. Do let us how it drives

thanks bro for the info...my sa called me this evening and gave me an estimation of rm11k per set...labour charge not included....will not void warranty of related parts....yours i think cheaper isnt it?

suspension n exhaust are my first targeted mods in my to do list...not really interested in other cosmetic mods....as mine is not msport version...m performance is the way to go....found out that with m suspension car will be lowered 20mm....msport only 10mm....

With that price i reckon you go aftermarket. KW or Bilstein. I got my KW V2 for half the price.

Fad, hows the ride with the KW V2? Is it too harsh?
I remember my brother used to have KW suspension set in his e60, the ride was similar to a civic with Tein Flex..too harsh for a family ride but gave great handling and stability

For vehicles without the M Sport Package, they are required to have the Front & Rear Sway Bars upgraded as well. Have PM you a pricing for the Suspension (w/ Front & Rear Sway Bars), and the Exhaust (w/ 2 x 70mm chrome tips).

Mr Fredo,
My KW is set to 8th click which simply translate the middle point from the 16th damping rebound setting available. BUT if you ride on my car, it would still feel stiff since im running 19inch wheels with low profile tyres. Any softer than that then i might lose out on corner stability and control.

Its IS comfortable FOR ME.

It all boils down to the person driving, cos ride comfort is subjective.

The M Performance suspension costs abt 13k including labor from the dealers for the 328i. The kit includes front and rear swaybars too. You would definitely need the swaybars to better control roll. Plnning to install on my ride but are 50/50 since 50% of my drive is urban, the current comfort biased is kinda nice, but the other50% is where i long for greater feel and control. Would love to hear from anyone who has installed it to understand how different it is from the std one. How nice if we had gotten the adaptive suspension as factory installed...

See pics below as given by my SA

That's exactly the same pwobwem I have. I really like the current comfort levels and perhaps only 25% of my driving might be better with tighter suspension. For that, I got my RCZ, which is pretty amazing but on M'sia's poor roads, the RCZ's firm and jiggly ride over poor surfaces can be annoying. Take it to Ulu Yam, you forget this deficiency. So, I'm really kinda dunno duh on the M Sports suspension :(

Whether to upgrade the suspension to a stiffer ones depend on what you use the car for most of the time. If you mainly use your car for city driving and fetching passengers and on highways, then I don't see the rationale for upgrading to a performance suspension. The stock suspension will do just fine.

Agreed :) Pity the 328i's other performance aspects i.e. fantastic drivetrain, makes you wanna push it even more when the road opens up :p and yes, I have tested the limits only to like, damn, suspension too soft and scary, back off! Well, I'll wait for more feed back i.e. how much does the M Sports suspension retain the stock comfort levels I have gotten so used to, and yet amplify the thrills :)

Yeah its wait n see for now for me too. Monitoring sites like bimmerpost in the mean time to hear the experience form the guys from the other side of the globe. Those guys are normally ahead.

The M Perf swaybars or stabilisers are only 0.5mm thinker (yes, i triple checked that, its not 5mm) than stock. So heres a newbie question: can we actually feel the improved ride stability from such marginal change? Thanks guys.

Hi _M_,

Don't have a specific answer to your question but here's a couple of points I found when I was researching this topic before that may help:

1) The M Performance Sway Bar upgrades, are designed to work in conjunction with their springs. So as a package, you should feel the difference.

2) Sway Bars are all about twisting force, so the thickness alone may not be the only criteria. Naturally if there are two bars of the same material and design, and one is thicker than the other, then the thicker one would have a a larger torsion strength. But unless we actually compare the OEM and M Performance, it's hard to tell what the stiffness change is.

To better understand my point (2), we'll look at the E92 335 Sway Bars, comparing stiffness and thickness.

Front OEM Sway Bars: 26.5mm
Front Hotchkis Sway Bars: 32mm
Improvement: 95% stiffer than OEM

Rear Oem Sway Bars: 13mm
Rear Hotchkis Sway Bars: 16mm
Improvement: 105% stiffer than OEM.

So even though the Fronts are 5.5mm thicker, they are only 95% stiffer, yet in the Rear, just 3mm thicker makes it stiffer by more than twice.

Hopefully that helps in some way. If we get someone interested in the Suspensions package, I will definitely do a very thorough side-by-side comparison and post them up in the forums.

Thanks for that Damien.. :top:.. do share if u come across additional info on the difference between stock vs m-perf stabilizers & suspension.

Cheers mate

Yes it may be 0.5mm thicker than the stock, but it's probably a solid bar instead of hollow of the stock. So, bigger diameter doesn't mean stronger here.

Stock is probably solid as well.
