Looking For E46 325i 2001/2002

Hi all the senior bro's, i m new in this bmw club. i intend to get a e46 325i year 2001 or 2002 japan spec recon. There are few things that i need advice from all the senior here. Hope all the senior bro can help me. TQ 1st. What is the reasonable Price? 2nd. Where can i send the car for inspection? And how much do they charge normall? btw i live in KL3rd. What other else to look b4 i purchase the car?4th. Reasonable price bmw maintenance shop to recommend?5th. What model of 3 series has cream leather seat?Thanks

Hi there.

Can't give answers to all but to some.

2nd - you can bring it to AB to do an inspection. The last i remember they charge something like RM100 or RM150 inclusive of a diagnosis report. This was 2 years back. Not sure if the price has changed.

4th - on parts and maintenance - most 'money conscious' owner would tell you that they but their parts directly from authorised or credible BMW parts suppliers and bring them to a credible workshop for labour work. This is definitely cheaper but comes with the hassle of you going back to the supplier if the part is faulty and not through the workshop. Some would rather pay the higher price and get the parts through the workshop than to deal with the hassle. So it really depends on whether its a high ticket/low ticket item or part and the hassle aspect.

Price will heavilly depend on condition and mileage of the car. A 2001 car can have as high as 120+k kms or as low as 25k kms. The average depreciation is ~RM25k per year, so mileage will play a role in the price in view that average yearly mileage is ~15k kms

Anyway, cream interior batches were only in one of the batch of the CKD 328i E46 if I am not mistaken. THese batches still had the german sekurit/pilkington glass on the doors from what I remember. Batches after that had Sirim glass on the sides.
