Hello Bryan
With that budget in your pocket, my advise better get a local car. This is due to, you need to have additional pocket bout Rm10K for engine maintenance if had in mind to purchase E36 pass 15 years. Bank normally wont approve the car loan already and I believe the only way is either u make personal loan or buy in ca$h. Do you want to spend cash for Rm26K and end up your car stray in the workshop over and over again.
P/s : If you love E36, better get year 98 or 99 which will cost you bout RM60K

I also agree with Acidburn, dont rush as you may suffer later.
92 or 93 E36 318i is on M40 engine. Fuel consumtion is quite high too, about RM100 for 400km for city drive. Repairs are not cheap and maintainance to have it tip top can be up to RM10K or even more.
