Recently I sent my car to a reputable air-con specialist to replace a faulty aux electric fan. To get access to said fan, front bumper and front headlights were removed. After new fan and bumper and headlights re-installed, found that one of my HID fog lights and HID low beam not working ( all lights were working prior to dismantling). Workshop gave up after numerous attempts and asked that I send my car to wireman. The question I would like to ask here is whether it is fair that the workshop should pay for subsequent repair charges for the above lights? Thanks

Left side or right side not working?

It could be a simple problem like the fuse is blown.

yes, fair for the workshop to pay for subsequent repair charge

since lights was working prior to dismantling, it's only fair that the air-cond 'specialist' make them good again.

Sent car to wireman this morning and detected power supply connectors to HID ballasts (fog & low beam) were reversed. Labor charge RM50.00. Going to charge air-con specialist for this.

but why when changing the aux fan they go touch the lights wiring?

I don't know why and I asked them the same question and gotten some silly reason.

Guys,

Thanks for your input and believe I have gotten the answer. Let's us not divert the original intention of this post.

if the mechanic is not able to troubleshoot a stock standard HID setup, i guess you should start looking for a new mechanic. i've seen cars with messed up wiring that requires a bomb expert to trace the wires. it's literally no joke in trying to understand some other technician's wiring masterpiece!
