recently read it from newspaper. has been thinking about it again and again.wanna share with u guys and also looking for others opinion.523i promotion again. 1.38%. RM328000. worth it? Was thinking to get the camry 2.4 since it is cheaper

Yes, the Camry might be much cheaper but the E60 is a different breed altogether. I have a company Camry and every now and then when I drive it, it irks me to death. No dynamics whatsoever. The E60 on the other hand got huge abilities and the appeal which goes with it. These are things you enjoy day in day out which should justify the extra cost.

facelift is RM379k right? the offer one is RM328k. abt 50k different. if get the offer one and modify the rear brake light to LED one which like the facelift will void the warranty or not?

RM328k for pre-facelift one. I didn't know facelift already have the 523i and 523SEi. Then better go for the RM349k without modift. RM328K plus 20K plus can get the latest look. Just read abt the bmw.com.my only the SE version come with GPS and extra. but engine and look are same.

any ideas what % for the facelift model? the offer one only 1.38%

As far as I know, the pre-facelift 5er only have 523i, no SE version.
The SE version only comes with the facelift.

I didn't really compare the list between 523i and 523i SE, but RM27k is a lot of difference between the 2 models. It better be worth it...

According to the website, yes it does come with the 190hp engine.

A quick browse thru the specs of the 523i SE; for the extra RM27k, you get:
- Adaptive headlights
- Climate comfort laminated glass
- Comfort Access
- Hi-Fi Loudspeaker system (better sound system I guess, but not sure bout the details)
- High beam assistant
- Lights package (i think you get more auxiliary lights, like beneath the door handles etc)
- Navigation system
- Radio BMW Professional

Quite a long list of additional equipment I would say.

But the funny thing is the 523i gets the Bluetooth mobile phone interface, but the 523i SE only gets the Bluetooth preparation...

If that's the case, then in my opinion, the extra RM27K is worth spending for those extras! An E60 without those extras looks pretty sad.

Surprised to see such comparison.. That only means u are not appreciative of the thrill of DRIVING..

Camry is just another comfortable highway cruiser that's much more comfortable than Proton, PERIOD. It offers absolutely ZERO driving pleasure. Like what Jeremy Clarkson commented on GS430.. "Wake me up when we get there.." kind of car.

With BMW, you don't sit at the back and enjoy the quiet trip at peace and near silence, rolling over a dead cat also won't realise. With BMW, its about getting the adrenalin rush into your vanes and live life. Nobody can guarantee there's tomorrow. If u can afford it, LIVE it.

Oh and if you pay RM33k more over the 523i SE (RM 409,800), you get the 525i Sports with full MTech-Kit, HUD and 18"...

But if HUD is not important for you, then you could get the 523i SE, and use the remaining $$$ to mod, more fun that way haha
I think the MTech-Kit can be had for around RM7k painted? Then around RM15k to get some good 19". Then another RM5k or so for the Koni/Eibach...

I beg to differ, GHS. I would plunge for the E60 525i which I think requires zero modification cos it comes with every conceivable M goodies and that extra 28 bhp is again, something you enjoy day in day out. I know this cos my E92 323i comes with the 190 bhp, same as the facelifted E60 523i but before this I had an E90 325i for more than a month. That extra ooomph is certainly worth it on its own. Hence, for 523i SE vs. M kitted 525i, it's obvious I will go for the latter. This decision is more difficult if I can get a 523i for RM328K which means RM90K diff for a 525i. With a diff of RM30K, please get the 525i.

yeah thanks for the advices guys. i know everyone would choose bmw over camry. I just trying to convince myself not to spend so much on car but i luv bmw since i got my license. I keep telling myself all kinda excuses like im still too young for a expensive car.

hahahahah but u all give me the same ans as i have in mind. I luv 5series. i think i will think abt it over weekend. will make decision this few days.

Maybe camry now then i can buy bmw 2yrs later. ( can have two cars )
if bmw now then i will not buy camry heheheheh

for pre-facelift? RM328k .
or extra more to get the latest facelift 523i for RM349k or 523i SE for RM379k
see extra rm21k can get the new facelift damn end up paying more and more for a car. headache~

I have to agree with JPB, a 525i is a lot of difference compare to 523i. If budget permits, go for 525i

Actually David, the facelifted E60 525i also comes with an uprated transmission which is 40% faster than what you guys have on your E90s. So, despite the E60's heavier weight, don't be surprised if the E60 picks up speed a tad faster.

yeap been reading abt the 523 SE. alot cool gadgets. luv the gps.

do u guys think they will give some discount like year 2008 and get the 2007 523 SE ?? I never been to any BMW show room. no idea at all. been driving japanese mobile many yrs. but i remember friend of my dad did got better offer when he bought the 2006 S class before chinese new year 2007. i forgot how much was it. but Benz SA did give good offer and tried to chear the stock. does BMW ? and guys which show room shd i go to in KL ? which got better service? my friend driving the currently 320. he said alot SA very stuckup. tot we cant afford it.

On the 190 bhp N52 engine, mine's beginning to run in nicely and tho it can't blaze past the 218 bhp version, it's free-revving nature makes up for power deficiency nicely. So, it's still quite fun and would still gun down the equivalent E200K or E240 and I guess even keep up with E280. Cool eh?

Juan Powerblow , where u got yours? fr Pat as well? please pm me the contact. i am thinking whether i shd wait ti, 2008 and get the facelift 2007 model for better price? shd i wait? one month plus only. since the damn camry need to wait for 5 months! hate to wait. pay and wait almost half year for a camry. tat's why i am thinking 523i. probably it can serve me at least 7yrs somemore it come with 3 yrs warranty and free maintainese rite? really nervous hehehe
