tu la..always miscount the cone along the highway..have to restart all over again..until now tak habis lagi..

DRIVE DOWN TO THE SOUTH

8 am - meet at Mc' Donalds in Sungei Besi... breakfast then a short brief then..

9am - we start the convoy... THOSE WHO ARE LATE WILL HAVE TO CATCH UP WITH US10:30 am - or there abouts we will reach mallacca over head restaurant. Have a cuppa, hopefully I can get some mallacan's to join us for the rest of the drive down.

11 am - start to drive again.

12.30 pm - est. arrival in skudai Toll where Vanquish or Vladd will take us all to lunch....

2pm - we will check in hotel and then it will be free and easy till evening.

First thing: STOP SHOUTING! We know lar you are vertically challenged but I assure you that people do listen when committee speaks ok?

Seeing that the response is very encouraging, here's a pre-drive checklist to help the participants along.

PRE-DRIVE Checklist:

1. Check all vital fluid levels – engine oil, brakes, transmission, coolant, etc.
2. Tires – make sure that they are in good condition with sufficient thread, check pressure, don’t forget to check your spare as well.
3. Petrol – fill up your tank as stops during the convoy will be limited.
4. Drinks – do bring along some drinks in your car.
5. Drivers – get enough rest before the drive, fatigue is the no.1 cause of accidents.
6. Clothing – dress comfortably with Club shirts/t-shirts.
7. Accommodation – reconfirm your bookings before leaving.
8. Appearance – do wash your car before the drive, dirty cars belong at home.

I am still unable to confirm my attendance due to work commitment, but I am trying ok?

Kevster... thanks for the tips. I'd also like to add on some convoy etiquettes.

Before a Run

Make sure your vehicle is mechanically ready for a run. If you are experiencing any problems sort them out before the run, otherwise you will just inconvenience others, or even the entire group.

All vehicles must be legally registered and street worthy. Bald tyres, smokey exhausts, etc. gives the club a poor image to the public... and the police!

Ensure your vehicle is fuelled up, well before the estimated departure time.

Unless specified otherwise you should eat before you leave home.

Arrive well before the estimated departure time to hear any last minute changes or directions. Vehicles arriving during the driver's briefing session are not only distracting but also very annoying.

You must be ready to depart when told to start your engines.

When asked to line up at a particular place make your way there as quickly as possible, and line up behind the Convoy Leader. (If necessary the traffic will be held up for a short time by one of the Run Marshals, to make this easier.)

Speeding and not following other traffic rules is prohibited except in a bona fide emergency.

During a Run

All vehicles in a convoy should display parking lights. This indicates to other drivers that you are part of a convoy and accordingly other vehicles should not break into convoy. (But I'm not sure if this is legal on Malaysian roads, if not accompanied by a Traffic Police officer. Please advise.)

Never ever pass your Convoy Leader. The CL has been given the responsibility to set the pace and ensuring that everyone arrives at the final location as a group.

On runs where more than twenty vehicles attend multiple convoys with their own CL will be formed. Convoys will not pass one another except in the event of a breakdown.

Stay in the same lane as the CL, Do not drive side by side. Frustrated drivers, blocked by a group of BMWs spread across multiple lanes, are dangers to everyone.

On winding roads use your regular cornering techniques and leave plenty of space from the vehicle in front.

From one stop point to the next, stay in the same location in the group - there should never be any reason for you to pass another member on the road. Take special note of who is in front of you and who is behind.

Stay aware of the vehicle behind you. Should you find yourself at the end of a group which has been split then wait at any turnoff to direct those following.

When Stopping

Unless advised otherwise have breakfast before you leave home!

When stopping, get off the road as quickly as possible.

At a fuel stop, fuel up as quickly as possible. If it is not a specified meal stop then don't buy coffee or food, as you will hold up the group or get left behind. Once you have filled your tank move your vehicle out of the way - consider others.

In Case of Problems

If a vehicle breaks down then no more than two other members should stop to assist, one may go ahead to advise the CL or the Run Coordinator but use a mobile phone or walkie talkie first where possible.

Should your vehicle break down or experience other problems requiring you to stop, stay with your vehicle. Contact another member with a mobile phone or walkie talkie where possible.

During traffic delays or slow moving traffic be courteous to other drivers including those who do not drive BMWs.
