Another car that's very near and dear to my heart. One which never fails to inspire some pride in me whenever I get the chance to drive it.

British mechanicals... Pretty messy-looking I'm afraid. But look at the size of that engine! :D

Whilst Merc have their 3 pointed stars, and BMW have their famous blue and white propellers, I would say, nothing beats the Jag's Leaping Cat for sheer austerity. Then again, only the Rolls or Bentley can trump the leaping cat. :D

Dirty engine bay...

Last night received a call, saying that the Jag can't be started.

Problem diagnosed - fuel pump failure. Cranked but couldn't start the car, so had to resort to towing the car back home.

Here are some pics. Admittedly, the kid in me felt that it was a rather impressive sight seeing a two tonne car being towed up the ramp. :D

Jags are next on my list after BMWs. the old and new Jags look awesome...hope to own one 1 day soon so it can keep my E34 company.

Eggie86! Nice to know you're a Jag classic enthusiast too!
I've a 1965 Jaguar 3.4L S-Type complete rebuilt that took nearly a year...
of course not done by me lah.. hehehe!!
Bro, lets hope we get to check out each other classic ride soon ....

Haha, not me! I'm just lucky enough to have a dad who loves classics, mostly modern classics though.

We used to have a Daimler XJ40 prior to the current Jag XJ40.

Wow the S Type. Wait, is yours the Mark II? That model is amazing! Loved the shape. Seems the Mitsuoka Newt is copying it. Haha. :top:

Yeah, Jags bring out some semblance of pride and gentleman-ness whenever I see a pristine one. :D

Of the older models, I prefer the Mark II S Type and the E Type. :D

The S-Type came into production right after Mark II with improvements in suspensions, brakes etc...

The front is quite similar to Mark II but the rear is exactly similar to Jag 420 ie bigger and longer boot...

E-Type is the most sexy Jag unaminously but I just find the long front odd when I tested one ...

Looks like your dad is also a classic car fanatic like me eh ...

In my porch another beauty, a MB 1959 190SL in red is parked for show and hardly driven..

Ahh, okok. Thanks for the clarification. I actually thought the S Type and the mark II were the same! My bad. :D

Hmm, the XJS also seems to have a rather long bonnet, but it feels rather nice to be behind the wheel of one.

Wow, 190SL. Is it the one with gullwings?

My dad's more of a modern classic person. He used to drive a Ford Capri [Mark I] when he was in the UK. Haha.

Bro! No way can I afford the Gullwing 300SL... easily over RM1M for a decent one!
Mine is just the little brother...

Ford Capri is the distant cousin of the Mustang ... but still just as sharp looking!!
Was drooling over it during my school days...
Picture this... chicks in mini skirts and dancing to the Stones, Beatles etc ..
Hahaha... am getting old and grey!!!

Haha, oops. Not too familiar with the classic Mercs really. :D

But still, the 190SL. That's an awesome classic! Ever entered it into any concours competition? :D

Yeah, the Capri's indeed a pretty decent car. Haha. No idea how it must have felt back then cos I'm only in my mid-20s! :D

But gosh, the cars back then were simply wonderful. Lusty soundtracks and all.

would be nice to have one of these to drive around on occasions but i'm guessing it''ll probably be expensive to run/maintain as daily drive?

Which car are you referring to bro? The classic 190SL? :D

the jag. the merc i'm guessing won't cost much to maintain or run but will be very expensive to buy.
