The yellow sign (beside battery logo) come up once about 5 minutes and disappeared after i restart the car. And then never show up again.

Is that critical issue? Called my mechanic, he said alternator kaput and need to change a new one.

Happen only once then need to have a new one? Could be other possibility error?

I could be wrong but I thought that yellow sign means engine oil is low. If alternator is the problem, the battery sign will light up.

Engine oil low not the red one beside battery logo meh? I could be wrong also.

All I know, if yellow, it is usually not critical. If red, its critical.

i also think it's engine oil level. e39 got dipstick? if yes, check the engine oil level with the dipstick.

weak battery also can cause a lot of problems. If you get random error messages (abs, airbag, dsc, gearbox cog wheel sign etc) then most likely its the battery. if you change the battery and still persist, its the alternator.

Left symbol of battery symbol is oil pressure.

The right symbol of battery is most probably the oil level.

check the oil level with dip stick. if oil level is Ok, then your oil level sensor is most probably fault.

Indeed low oil level. Top up 1 liter engine oil to avoid further damage.

left to batt is lo oil level......yellow
right to batt is lo oil pressure.....red
