Iridium plugs

Hairy,

I would personally refrain from using these iridium sparks, especially if you are having a M50/tu/M52/M54 engine. These engines already come equipped with individual coils and digital motor electronics better known as DME (better spark and re-coil time) and hence will bring little whatsoever benefit, if there is any. In fact in some bimmer forums, users have encountered misfiring problems at high rpm.

These plugs may benefit a four/six pot engine with a distributor tho, in my humble opinion.

Al Bun Bun, what plugs are you using?

any E46 members using iridium plug without problem? (NGK, Denso, Volker, Autolite, etc).

Im running on Volker & I personally find d plugs r much better than Bosch. Fuel consumption proves well, wit greater response during accels....got torque la, sumtin like a G-force pushing head 2 d back 'BUT', a mild one.
During my visit at BVO, Bernard & Ernest mentioned that I "shud change my Ignition Coils 2 get d Volkers blah blah blah"...wit so much jargon & technical words explained 2 me it all juz went thru my thick skull & out. I even saw some alphabets floating around me, like....K....q...A...r...h..g...duuhhh...
But all d explainations make sense, maybe i'll get that on my next visit there.

I'm running on Volker Iridium Spec II.. RM100 each..

NGK is it! for my e30m40

i've been using NGK bkr6eix-11 since june 2005. after 80000km, they're still running ok but i think it's time to change. price is RM38.5 each.

performance is good and so is fuel consumption!

hi m30;

i got it through a friend, special price in jb. but NGK lasts very long, especially thouse made from precious metals like platinum or the iridium IX series. i think it's the best.

i believe there should be an NGK for your car too. check the application on your car. probably the same model for your car too!

To all BMW members

Most BMW Engine is using 0.9mm Spark Plug gap
Plug gap distance for BMW Engine => From Center electrode (Fine Tip) to Ground Electrode is 0.9mm

Can give DENSO Iridium IK20 a try?
Original DENSO Iridium IK20 sold in market not gapped. I provide gapping to 0.9mm
