i will be getting an e46 very soon. i have viewed the car and thought i need to do a few work on the interior.1) the mats are not originals. some ciplak rubber mats (those you can find in ace hardware). my friend told me that the ori mats can be clipped to the floor so that the mat wont moved. is this true? if yes, will i be to obtain it from bmw? or do you guys have better suggestion on floor mats?2) i realised that the console is somewhat scratchy (its the rubberry part of the console, mainly around the gear area and the cigarette lighter lid). will i be able to restore it to like-new condition?if any workshop/specialist job is required, klang valley area will be best.

yes, ori floor mats have clips at the ends which hold the mats in place. should be able to get mats + clips from parts shops e.g. Bavarian Auto, First Division, etc.

the rubbery console degrades over time in hot tropical weather. one fix that's popular on overseas forums is to wash and scrub the part in hot water to completely remove the rubber layer, exposing fresh plastic underneath.

Or, just send to accessory shop and stick the CF sticker.

i thought of CF sticker before, but due to our weather (hot hot hot), how will the sticker holds up to peeling etc?

as for the scrubbing part, wouldnt this instill more scratches to the rubber part?

if u insist on the high quality type (i.e. 3M glue type) and not the China made one it should be OK. I used them for the exterior (window seal, B-pillar and bumper lips), so far so good. If u hv spare cash, then go for the real CF panel lor. check this out:
