Typically the shop can 'kow tim' should the cover is good enough. For E46, if you cover RM2,000 (you pay RM300 for the insurance), it is good enough to cover an imported German windscreen, a good new rubber moulding/frame and workmanship. Not sure whether your windscreen has a rain/light sensor. That one cost more than without the sensor.

If you cover more perhaps you can ask them to replace the the bottom wiper cover. That part come in 3 parts. The long cover and the triangle edge for left and right. That parts cost in a region for RM300. I have to re check as I've change mine before.

You can also include the tint.

it all depends on how much you insure the windscreen.
if i'm not mistaken you pay 15 ringgit for every 100 insured.

play smart and insure the whole thing including the rubber seals as it might have wind sound if you reuse the rubber.

Do you meant the wiper garnish (Part # 51718189100)? That part can be replaced for about RM200-220.

So, if I want to end up with a brand new windscreen + wiper cover / garnish + a good tint, then I have to insure the screen at least for RM2,500/- and pay premium of about RM375, right?

BTW, how much actually is the price of just the windscreen?

Just replaced mine few days ago and all in cost me about RM2380. I insured mine for RM 3000 so that it can cover tinting replacement as well.
