hey people, my odometer and trip meter have stopped working for some time now. not sure why. also the service indicators and the other lights are not working anymore, plus the lighting for the rev, speed, temp and fuel meters are quite dim. do i have to change the cluster or can it be fixed? also a rough price would be helpfull, thanks

Could be just the bulb is gone.. There are two bulbs. One for the trip and odometer and the other for service light. The LCD display is backlighted by this bulb.

yeah i thought that might be it, also the odometer and trip meter have stopped moving, what parts must be changed to get it to work again? or is it cheaper to get the whole cluster from a chop shop?

It'll be cheaper to get from chop shop...but ur case is not the cluster.

as for the lights....dim issit ,not bright.??? Check ur alternator..if urs is B20 then it's shud be 55 Amperes...you shud get the 90 Amperes output alternator.

as for dead trip/odometer...it's the gear.I posted up a few pictures somewhere. might be the differential pulse generator(speedometer)

Jipster's thread regarding the instrument cluster

hope it helps.. :)

that damn gear haha some guy quoted me rm150 for the gear(sounds overpriced to me)

...hmmm the alternator, gotta check that, yeah my interior lights are rather dim. buying the m20 from naza2 in great condition, better change the worn out parts in the engine bay while the engine is out.

thanks for the help

Yup the RM150 is roughly the price for the gears.

I've also changed my alternator to the 90 amperes (thanks to Zoggee) and the brightness is so much better compared to the 55 amperes.
Actually , that will be the first thing you notice onces you've changed it.
