Instrument cluster issue

Guys, Have this very irritating issue with my ride now. there is this intermitten problem on my instrument cluster. The ABS and center LCD display which shows the milege and outside temp will go blank for a few sec then come back on. At the same time, if the head light is on, it would dim. Could it be the alternator? Any idea? Cheers!!!!

hmm...sounds like you need a M5 cluster...guess what? there's 1 in my storeroom....haha

light module its under the dashboard. my two cents. had simillar problem wit e39 . cost about 3k plus.

There is quite famous "pixel" issue on E38 and I'm not sure E39 share the same issue.

Thanks. My mech suspects that it is the angle eyes wiring which another mech worked on which may be the reason for the problem. He has disconnected the lights and will check it out. humm....funny to see that these lights can cause the instrument cluster to crap up.
