Info on E39

Hi Forumers,I am new to the marque and am thinking of buying a recond unit. It is a unreg 520i 2000 model, mileage 32000 . The engine is M54 and it is from Japan.I verified the VIN and the decoder confirmed it is a year 2000 model. I hope that the experts in this forum can give me some pointers: I test drove the car today and noticed that when I turned on the ignition, all the meter / dashboard lights came on except the symbolthat looks like an exhaust (I assume its the catalyic converter) and some other symbols which are located at the let of the meter cluster. I would like to know E39 owners in this forum turn their keys to position II does all the symbols light up?They are selling the car for RM125,000 but I am trying to bargain again. What else should I look out for in this model? Any help / advise is appreciated.ThanksMark

RM125k for a recond 2000 year? better buy 2002 year used unit for RM80k to 85k :top:
i got mine few months ago 2002 520i for 85k.

I suggest you to buy 525i 02/03.

Auto-City near to Selayang Pasar Borong, a 520i (manufactured and registered 2003) local Auto-Bavaria asking for RM103K and willing to let go at RM93K. Very good condition and full specs. Don't believe in the mileage of Japan re-con cars.

around 70k to 80k depends, unregistered normally price higher due to bank interest is lower. :wink:

bmw7833 is correct, your unit is way overpriced! Not sure which symbol you are refering to. Try looking at the manual to find out.

overly over price dude .... if you are in sabah, might as well go to labuan and make your deal from there......why get a 520 when a 525i gives a better ride and return? Tell that sucker (dealer) to suck someone else ......
