Hey guys,I'd like to know since the car which soon to be mine have an iDrive but doesn't have a function to watch movies nor navigation system. So, can I update/upgrade my iDrive to the latest version and have it installed a function that let me watch movies and use navigational system?If I can, please do let me know if I can just bring my car to any nearest BMW SC to do this and also the cost of upgrading.The car is 525i 06/06 local spec.Hope someone will shed a light on this matter.Thank you.Astro

Looks like to have nav I need to do CIC retrofit and I did asked around (emailed Patrys, a guy in Poland who can do this remotely - source) cost is around 2000-2200Euro shipped complete with Malaysian maps.

Is there anywhere in Malaysia who can do this a lot cheaper?

iDrive upgrade Question

Anyone have idea of what it cost to:

1) Retrofit CIC iDrive onto 2006 E60?
2) Upgrade iDrive Business to iDrive Professional?

I bought my car last month, pre-registered end 2010.
Latest version i checked wit AB sg besi is 2010 but they still dont want to give free update of the new map.
I asked d SA they, d cost around 1.5k..

latest is 2010 and after that there will no more of it ... 2011 onwards, all maps will be pre-install into the iDrive.

I find myself in similar position as U..bought E60 523I LCI 07 SE, donno what SE means (special edition?) Upon rcv, realised no dvd, no navi, no bluettooth...not even xenon !! Later, SA tell me, mine is basic bemmer la, so SE stands for standard/basic edition..Cheh!! Assessing my situation, n reading tis topic, I went straight to Freddy Obermaier..install dvd n change monitor, rm10k..bluetooth n wiring, another rm6k..FFShaking whole body hearing it..end up solution ? Buy external gps wit bluetooth function, rm350 only..not a desirable solution, maybe temporary only..
