iDrive easter eggs?

Is there any hidden menu functions that i can access and play around with in iDrive?Kinda like with the E46, you can access the OBC with the instrument cluster and run diagnostics..Is there anything that we can do with the iDrive? Especially the local ones without navigation so when u push to the right, it says OBC?Thanks in advance for the responses.Regards,Kenny

you cam install tv receiver and play dvd s on it....cost you 500plus singapore.the shop is in suntec plaza .got it install last week to my dads 530d e60. its not bad upgrade.

BTW, it's not in the idrive but the display in the dash. There is another secret menu in the idrive but not very interesting.

Some of us have installed a video switch and are using the idrive screen to display back up camera or with car pc to play music, gps etc etc.

Hi! Kenny,

It was not done by any shop. It was a hack by one of the guys in Singapore. Then all of us ordered the switch from Korea, and got some freelancers to do the installation of the switch.

You can still get the switch from US but it's rather expensive for that little box. I do not have the contact to the OEM in Korea I am afraid.

The way I see others said about AB I think they will definitely void your warranty.

The thing is i noticed when i was flipping thru the 5 series manual that under entertainment, there is a TV option whereas i only have CD, FM and AM.

How do i properly retrofit this TV option into my idrive with the proper BMW parts?

I don't know how to but my best guess is only AB or any authorised agents can. The problem is you will need to update your idrive software to enable the TV option; then you can see the option under entertainment.

The same goes for the simple aux in input. You will need to pay through your nose for the BM part and pay through your nose again (unless they are kind enough to waive this) to ask them to update the software to enable the option. On top of that, you will have to pay for labour also.

This car is not so mod friendly even with tranditional electronic stuff.
