Hi Guys,Would like to know whether has anybody have try by fixing or installed any performance airfilters on their 318i E36 rides by without the ICV & AFM?Regards

i don't get it!

you mean, installed any performance airfilters and take out ICV & AFM?

it wouldn't work like that.

Regardless of what type of air filter that you plan to upgrade,
you still need the ICV and AFM to run properly.

BTW, where did you the idea of removing the ICV and AFM.

I have heard of ppl changing the AFM to MAF but to remove it complete????

I once had a problem with my AFM and it couldn't idle at all. Called my mechanic and he unplugged the connector to the AFM and presto it could start although he had to adjust the idling rpm a little bit higher. Drove the car to the workshop and got the AFM changed.

Well, I did see the picture in a website last time but forgot the web address. It showed that the performance airfilter installed in the ride does not have any ICV or AFM.

I think my ICV is almost damaged now because I found that my ride a bit hard to idle at stand still although the gear are disengaged. When I unpluged the wire from the ICV, its sound a bit smooth but when I plugged the ICV again, the engine start to shaking a bit.

Regards
