Butler and Phass, eh ? Sonic Nirvana doesn't get better than that. The TBD amps from the former is super smooth stuff ... there's still a lot life left in em tubes! Kinda reminds me of the old TU series US Amps .... mighty MOSFET amps with tube output stage ... and a sound to die for !!!

P/S - don't know where to save but my soul is for sale ... for the right price! Hahahahahaha !!!

Cheers,

It was a RE2.

Tech note on the RE2

Quote :

"We have invested RE 2 with many top-quality audio parts such as custom-made transformers for the power supply circuit, custom-made audio grade condensers by Nippon Chemi-Con, Tantalum condensers, audio grade input transformers by Tamura, audio grade Volumes by Tokyo Kouon and Hi-grade RMG resistors by Riken etc."

Unquote.

Kinda reminds me of those mucho expensive stuff from Sinfoni, Brax or even the old school Phoenix Golds. Quality definitely does not come cheap. Glad you had a blast in that Estima, man!

The RE2 goes for RM23k if I recall. Now, now, sell one classic Alfa to fund a unit to go with my 3 Blade valve amps?

WHICH Alfa classic wud you be selling ? Get em a pair of PHASS amps and throw those Blades to me !!! :p

Stop tempting me you, Devil! Hahahahaha ... yeah, two VERY satisfied customers there. Yeah, my initial impression of the amps and speakers were almost identical. Stunning realism and imaging .... the amps and speakers practically disappearing from the stage while leaving you with sweet, sweet music. Damn ...

oi.. you guys are getting way out of topic already.

Kahar, where are you?

Maybe we should also highlight our listening preference.

Very true ... WAAAAYYYY outta topic. That's why I set up the "Look What I Have Found" thread here ... we move all our OT topics and chit chats there la. Gotta do some housekeeping before the Mods come down on us.

The rest ... please post your set ups or even your intended ones here ... let's keep the thread going ...

Thank you,

It's a sad day today! Both the buyers for my PG Titanium and Orion XTR have confirmed the deal. The XTR will not be missed .... but my sweet, sweet ol faithful Ti. will be missed. Hope the new owner pampers her and keeps her in mint condition. Oh well .... all good things MUST come to an end at some point, they say ..

Will still be there for the ICE TT but may not choose to drive. A 3 hour plus drive WITHOUT music is not my idea of fun ... may just fly in or catch a train or something. :p Wud not wanna miss the event and meeting up with you guys. What's next ??? Keeping my fingers crossed that my pal in the US pulls the deal thru .... if it does, a trio of Mr. Robert Zeff's finest creations will be singing in my car soon! Zap! Zap! Keeping my fingers crossed ... :)

Cheers,

i know alpine have come out with a new v-series amps and new type-s .....the old monoblock and 6.5" might be cheaper now.....hehehe

Spot on, Skar.

Two of my pals in Sinchapore were telling me that the shops in Sim Lim are slashing prices of the old V series stuff. Just that they can't quite ascertain the exact origins of these goods ... takut fake ones, lar!

I'll just be ICELESS for the next few weeks while pending the Secret OPS by my pal in L.A! This is gonna be a long miserable period ...

the alpine amp range is sweet i like, i will be scouting around for a monoblock in kl (old model) see what kind of deal i can come across

Okie,

The same model that you PMd me before, rite ? I'll check with my pals in SIN to see what sorta prices are the local sets (with warranty) going for. You can then compare em for the best deal. Keep you updated.

OT, my friend sent me a teaser pic last nite ... one half of my new babies, hopefully! :yahoo:

Cheers,

The only thign abt Zapco that I dun really liek is that you need to spend a fortune on their Simbilink stuff...

True ... but most of the time, you can get em bundled in with the amps. Plus, the benefits of the Symbilink and quality that it delivers especially if you're looking at running a balanced input/output makes it a worthwhile investment IMHO. But yes, bought separately .... they don't come cheap. You sold your Butlers already aah ? :)
