I want to upgrade!!

Hallo everyone,I have been hit by this itch to look into possibilities of an engine upgrade for my e34 m20 520i manual. I don't have much to spend, probably in the range of RM 5k for everything including pasang.... possible ka?What's the best to go for now? an m50b25? m20b25? m30b30? m30b35? hehehe... my codings all correct or not? simply tembak...If it is possible with RM5k, what are my options? I think it is a bit wishful thinking to think that I can get a m50b25 for that money, or can i?Sorry if my questions are too beginner level... so cefu-cefu, please advice!(The itch began when I met wolverine... hehehe... the itch is bad, but it is goooood... hehehe...)

check out my specs 1st (even the cams cost nearly 3K)

Sorry for the hijack......

For me...cheapest way is M20B25.....Just change the engine kosong +monifold+TB+AFM+ECU......Cost u below 4K.....

If got add fund M50B25 is the way.....better still with vanos....u can PM wan520 for the detail.....He just convert his.....or mnk who just convert the non vanos M50B25 as well.....

If for M20B25...lot of members did it b4.......

Just curious, my touring is a 93 imported by AB , 525i November
Whats the code for this engine?

if the make was a 93, it should be a vanos, but there could be a possibility it could be a non-vanos if it was older ( 91-92)
m50TUb25 - vanos
m50b25 - non vanos

2 ways to check - the cylinder head should have a slight bulge on the exhaust cam side, and to confirm the ECU last 3 digits ( 413 is the vanos b25)

I am quite a 'blur' when it comes to upgrading and stuff...

I know I want to upgrade, but not sure where to start first...

If anyone knows someone who is selling a complete set, please let me know...

The other thing is, I would like to know the experience of people who have done an upgrade... Petrol wise, satisfaction level, and also maintenance cost...
