HID - converting H1 to H4 ??

I just found some new old stock of Hella HIDs 6500K - ballasts are German-made Hellas (could be OE) and bulbs are Osram. Only RM1400 - darn cheap !! But problem is they're H4 ..... But the guy at the shop said they can file down / modify the bulb base to fit H1 lamps ie. e30, e36 etc. They've also done for H7 ie. e39 as well.Somehow I'm not quite convinced 'coz H4 bulbs are pretty long and the depth of the Beemer's reflector lamp doesn't look like they can accomodate the longer bulb. :dunno: Has anyone had any experience in this modification ??

Can be done, all HID bulbs are the same length. Only the base differs.

The price is still not appropriate for old stock. One forummer got them for under RM800........

u mean h4 to h1 ? no way u can do it ! i have tried on e36 cant modify at all
