by the way it has to be 2 teh tarik as bimmerholic is invited too..

by the way.. a little hint.. the instrument cluster level for fuel is the same for all the E39.. so not an issue..

port and polishing does not cause it to jerk...

I betting it is your fuel pump or injectors.. have you taken out your spark plugs and check?? is it running rich or lean?? if it is dry and whitish... it will be ur pump. or even the hose in the tank connecting the pumps.. happened to me.. lucky i wasnt tensioned like you.. heheh keep it cool. since if u ra taking out the pump to check, make sure the float are ok.. actually float do not cause jerking.. its just a level sensor.

another way to make sure you have got the problem pin point is to find out fuel pressure. go get a 1/4 tee and a pressure gauge 5bar. the u can see if it is working. if the pressure in your rail is less than 1 bar in ildling.. take out the fuel pump and throw it at the mechanic.

If that is not enough, come overi lend you my Innovate then u can see your afr.

Most fuel pump still pump and spraying when u test it outside but does not mean it is still ok..

From my humble opinion hearing you issue.. i place my bet on the fuel pump70%-lines20%-injectors10%..
