Hi all,Today while I was coming back from Optimum Workshop from a projector lamp connector change, the brake pad wear light lit.Checked with Foo and he confirmed the brake pad is there but he recommended that i replace the rotor disc and the pad.My question will be what rotor disc and brake pad to go and what is their cost impact? Thanks

I recently changed by rear discs as they were "grooved and thin" and resulted in shuddering of the brake pedal. its prolly a little on the high side but I paid 170 per disc for brembo discs.

are these crossdrilled or slotted?

Mizhan-nope, just solid discs.

Genozide-i think the price for pads ranges. but a popular choice these days are ATEs that go for about 100 a set. which i believe are on the lower end. guys, please correct me if i'm mistaken.

325i rotors which are ventilated cost in the region of 125-150 or more... I bought the ATE rotors for RM145..

As for pads, I bought TRW OEM pads for RM90. ATE for RM110, Jurid Class A for RM190.
The Jurid is reserved for my track outings.. ATE is for normal street use... Have not put on the TRW yet..

Here's the ATE rotors which I had sent to cut slots onto the disc surfaces...

Geno,

If lite is on....means pad is NOT ENOUGH.

If disc is too thin already ( from past skimmings ) or badly grooved, hence cannot be re-skimmed, the new disc is the choice.

Prices - my pal Fab already gave....

Brakes - dun play play!

Thanks guys....Me too prefer the brakes to be in perfect condition considering what the 2.5L can deliver...

Just took delivery of the car 2 weeks ago and currently checking the mechanical aspects of the car...

looks like its ATE rotor and brake pad...

BTW where did you all get it at that price?

Thanks and have a good weekend.

Better get the ATE Power disc and make sure u do the 7 series brake servo mod if u want to really stop....

of course, braided lines and nice soft pads helps for sure..

And last of all, educate the driver to know how to brake!!! :)

Guys,
Checked with my mechanic and he was recommending BREMBO rotors....coupled with TEXSTAR pads....He is not comfortable with ATE...more confident with the above combo...
