looking at the picture, the cable at the top left look very new for a >15 yrs old car
whereas the cable at the bottom right look more the right aging for the car.

Chances is someone may have modified the wiring. Would be able to tell more if have a chance to "feel" the
cable. Sent it to a Auto wiring technician, they can tell you what type of cable it is.

The wire was covered intially, maybe that why it is still in good condition, but i dont think it is a midified one, as it come direct from the engine compartment.

hmm

Can you show us the area where the cable is terminated in the engine compartment.

Also pls show more detail of the cable.

To me, the cable look like a power extention cable. (brown, blue and green cable - L, N and E)

Aero, I think the wiring dont look like the original wiring harness for a BMW.

but it come direct from under the fuse box. how can i recheck.

By the way do you happen to know is there is any wire or sensor that will trigger higher rev when the air cond is switch on as my drop slightly and some time during depress clutch rpm may drop too low and die off.

To give an idea of an e30 wiring harness for m42 engine. You will notice that the cables are usually
wrapped or bind together with plastic tape.

Will need to recheck then, i did saw the lower portion there is some tape, but as from my picture the center part are missing, may be due to old age, or it was remove when the previous owner install alarm.

thanks

bro, I dont think I can help you if you still think you need to check again whether the cable is original
when the evidence in the picture showed that the wiring have been modified.

Ask the previous owner who has have done the re-wiring and get the wireman contact.
